  1. Hello I am the coach of the AAU team called TN chosen few. We are looking for some talent to come and play for us. I am the 17's and under coach and have right now close to 9 really good players. Please call me anytime for more info about my team. I live in Knoxville TN and have been coaching now 10 years at both high school and college levels. my number 865-659-8814
  2. Raul is a great person and a great coach. He played at Mary ville College and learned under one of the best coaches in Tennessee under Randy Lambert so he is going to know the game and he is going to be a players coach! To me GP has a great young coach who cares about his players on and off the court. Class Act Man. Yes coaches get carried away in some games but you name me one coach who has never got carried away in at least one of his games and i would love to meet this person! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. I agree with Derek Wallace and i also put Chris Kessler in the mix. He took a team in Knox West that won 2 games in the previous year finishing dead last in the district and then in one year they win 15 games and place 4th in the district and with only one senior.
  4. Yes stix is a teacher at Austin East High School. He teachers biology there and South Doyle has 2 openings in the science field there, but you do make a good point about assistants being moved up to head coaches. I wished some of Coach Marie's old players could say something about on here to let people really know how much he knows the game and is passionate about his players. By the way i have seen him get a kid into college who never played high school basketball. He left the college coaching world because of 2 things. One is that he has been our youth pastor for over a year now and the money is not that great in college. But i know there are qualified people out there that have a great background, but i still say that STIX is the man for the job! This is just my thought!
  5. It is all up to Mr. Duncan to make the decision now. If they won't somebody young then i think stix is the man, but if they wont somebody who is older with more experience then it will be up to somebody else.
  6. Well my boy stix has been at AE and Knoxville College. He might be the right fit for the job.
  7. I asked Marie about GP and their coach is name Raul and he is fine at GP. Raul is a great guy and might have another job lined up who knows.
  8. HOOPSGURU you are funny. This is not LeBrandon, but me and him use to share this account when we coached AAU together. I will say this while he coached at shorter college he did practice and talked to some of the Atlanta Hawks because their NBDL team was there. Too funny on the scouting for the hawks, but seriously i think he would do a great job at SD and he is certified in Biology. We will see. And yes that is the same stix that played at karns and Knoxville college. He will love that comment on the hawks thing! still laughing!
  9. well he is a good friend of mine and AAU is coaching because he coached and got his players into college. Not your average AAU Team. But he coached some small college at Virginia Intermont college and Shorter College. His family is here and he wants to stay in Knoxville. If you know him he will change the program around and i promise he would stay as well. Getting back to the AAU comment nothing personal and i do see your point but before you critize you need to ask his players if he coached them or was it just roll the ball out and play.
  10. His name is LeBrandon Marie. He starting coaching AAU back in 2002 and their team was really good ( Knoxville Heat) Then he went on to coach college ball and was about to be a GA at the University of Minnesota but decided to move back home. He is young, but has a lot of coaching experience! Has many references like Saul Smith, Randy Lambert, and a lot of head coaches around Knoxville. He was at West high school as the head JV coach and Assistant Varsity coach. Helped turn that program around and i believe he can do the same for South Doyle!
  11. I heard of a name that is floating around who has had many calls to Mr Duncan. This guy is a young coach and has 9 years of coaching experience with 2 years of college coaching and many people calling in his behalf! It should be interesting.
  12. Has anyone heard about the South Doyle Job. I believe it is going to take a young coach who is yp to the challenge to change the program around. Has anyone heard about the South Doyle Job. I believe it is going to take a young coach who is up to the challenge to change the program around.
  13. well its been a long time since ive been on here! but nobody knows what it is like to try and change a program around till they have been the coach in that position! These guys are winning games and that is a huge improvement over the past 5 years, where most of the games has been forfeits that was in there win column. Yesterday against a team who is in the same league with some 2A schools they won both games back to back. Also in the 2nd game their pitcher threw a shutout that has not been done in over 20 years! Congrats to Hiram Clark. My hat goes off to kids who don't give up even when the main population gives up on them!
