  1. From what I have seen out of Oak Ridge, Powell, and Halls... I dont think it would be a upset if Powell took these games, Powell has a solid line up 1-9 and everyone on the team has alot of playing time already in the bag seeing as Powell only lost T.J. Farmer last year they had to fill one hole a 2nd base, i'd say Powell or Oak Ridge win the district and Halls in 3rd.
  2. This kid is way over rated, everything i have heard is he is a god, he had a good game agaisnt gibbs, witch some middle school teams could probably beat... i think i saw he had 2 catches agaisnt powell, and i know he didnt have that much against west so when it comes to tough competition hes a avarage player. the only thing he is pretty good at is punt returns.
  3. Oak Ridge went to Powell tonight and the Panthers came ready to play it looked like from the first inning till the last, Powell started the game off when Matt Hargis hit a Triple, then Jimmy Franklin moved him in to take the lead 1-0, then TJ Farmer got on in the 3rd and Hargis hit one up the middle to score Farmer from second. Then Oak Ridge got alittle something going in the 5th and scored one run, the bottom of the 5th Farmer got walked and ended up scoring again and thats about how it went. Justin Hobby a freshman pitch a great game for Powell, then Daniel Evans game in to shut it down in the 6th inning. Great game all around very fun to watch. If Powell wins out in district play do they finsh ahead of Oak Ridge or does anyone know how thats gonna work out?
  4. The first time these 2 met Powell came out on top 5-2 in the season opner at Powell, now Powell will head to Clinton to play again tonight . Who do yall think wins? I will pick Powell by 5 or more
  5. What will the final standings be at the end of the year and the winner of the regular season district gets to hold the district tourney this year. The teams are Halls, Powell, Central, Karns, West, C. County, Clinton, and Oak Ridge. What does everyone think the seeds will be for the the tourney this year?
  6. Im not sure how Oak Ridge is doing but i heard they are pretty good. Powell has lost 2 in a roll and im sure that they are wanting that to stop. But i want to know who everyone thinks is gonna win this one?
  7. Karns came to Powell monday night and beat the Panthers 7-0, Powell just looked like they were dead and didnt want to play and about everyone on Karns team was in the game the whole time. Powell too its first loss of the year and now is 3-1 (2-1 in district) and Karns is no 4-0 in the district and is in first place. If Powell comes to play next time it should be a very good game and Karns has a good team congrats.
  8. Powell has started out hot already 2-0 in district. They beat Clinton 6-4, and then beat a very good Halls team 8-6 thats was so suprising, noone gave them a chance in the world to beat them (including myself a former player at powell) they have also beat Fulton. Corgats Panthers keep playin! How does everyone think they will end up this season?
  9. Congrats on the win tonight thats a big one for the Panthers, everyone thought that Powell was gonna get beat in 5 but proved alot wrong... I didnt think Powell could win this one either proved me wrong to tell ya the truth. But good game all around you hit the ball and made the plays in the field keep it up!
  10. Tonight Powell did show they have turned their program around from last year, there bats were pretty solid tonight and like CHS said the top four batters are the core, if Daniel Evans keeps strokin the ball like he is and the guys in front of him keep gettin on then they will score alot of runs, but the bottom half of the lineup does need to pick it up. The freshman Andrew Green did pitch a heck of a game tonight, he had a good solid defense behind him also, not to many mistakes but one was made when a grounder was hit to thirdbase not sure of the name, but the throw to first got by Daniel Evans and the rightfielder was there backin up the throw and got the guy trying to go home. TJ Farmer made a awesome bare handed play, the ball took a bad hop and he just grabbed it with his bare hand, and then the double play Farmer and Matt Hargis turned was very nice to. Powell may not be up to Halls level yet but we will see were they stand Wed. i might be wrong but you can tell that these guys have worked hard in the off season. Good luck guys...
  11. Good game by both teams, Powell hit the ball well and made the plays in the field. That was really good for them to win that game headin into the game against the dragons, Powell also beat Lenior City 3-1 today in 5 innings but lost to Catholic 5-1. Played a very good game agaisnt Lenior City then came out against Catholic hittin the ball but right to them. Good luck to powell the rest of the year.
  12. Who wins the season opener, lol didnt mean to put when.
  13. Clinton will travel to Powell Monday for the season opener, Just wantin to see who everyone thinks is gonna come up on top of this one. Powell has improved ALOT from last year and from the way all the guys are talking they are ready to go agaisnt the Dragons, Clinton better be ready Powell is gonna come out going 110 they will not go for a season last year. I pick Powell by 1 or 2. What does everyone eles think?
  14. I have said this countless of times, Powells defense looked ver good at Anderson County, and adding Hargis wont hurt it at all. They just need to get the bats going and they will be fine from what i have seen.
  15. Powell lost Nick Lakin SS, and Cory Spradlin C, but both have been replaced by to solid players, Matt Hargis will move to Shortstop and TJ Farmer will come in from Center Field and play second thats a pretty solid middle infield if you ask me, i know Hargis is a player and Farmer looked pretty sharp Tuesday night against Anderson County, but he also is a heck of a Center fielder and if he dosent hold up a 2B then he will move back to Center Field and Jimmy Franklin would move back into 2B he finshed up the year there last year. Catcher will be takin over by a Sophmore Nick Pressly he looked very good behind the plate Tuesday night, he was blockin everything up, i dont think a ball got by him maybe 1, he also threw a couple people out, so i dont think they lost that much. They have also gained some, first off they got alot more expirence, and then they are suppose to have a couple Freshman that can play and both played alot in the scrimmage, Justin Hobby LH P/OF came in the game in the 4th inning and didnt give up a run, and the other Freshman is Andrew Green LH P/OF, started in left field and came in to pitch in the 6th inning and didnt give up any runs either. Powell looks to be about a .500 team this year.
