  1. I'll be heading up to Knoxville Friday for this game. I'm really hoping we can keep it close and have a chance to shock everybody. There's nothing but respect from Polk Co. towards CAK. I've never been to CAK so it should be a great experience. Go Polk!!
  2. I haven't heard much about Kingston this season. The last time these two teams played was a physical game. Look forward to watching this game, and seeing how the boys have prepared. Good luck to both and safe travels to Kingston.
  3. Yep, no excuses. The team got whipped. Period. Congrats to the Pirates and good luck on getting another golden ball. I hope Coach Davis gets his team together and play with pride and physicality that we're known for. Tonight was pathetic honestly. Time to get back to work and see how mentally tough we really are. Good luck SP.
  4. Really excited to drive down and watch this game tonight. I'll be bringing a friend from Illinois to watch, and see what football is about in this area. Good luck to both teams, Go Polk!!
  5. Great win for Polk Co. I'm glad to see, despite the circumstances for SM, that we could capitalize and play hard. Polk people please don't start running your mouth about how good we are. It will result in nothing but crow eating. Let's get a win next week and keep at it!!!
  6. I'm interested to see how the underclassmen step up to replace the key losses from last season. Anybody have any info on scrimmages going on before the season starts?
  7. Yes, Loudon should be in the top 10. They always have a good, hard nosed team that makes a run every year it seems.
  8. Coach D.Davis is very much like his father. Having the pleasure to play under them both, I can tell you they both demand effort and hard work. One of their big quotes is "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work." You don't have to be the most talented to play on Friday, but you will be laying it all on the line every play.
  9. Polk County vs. Tellico Plains Sequoyah vs. Sweetwater Lenoir City vs. McMinn Central Loudon vs. Meigs County Polk vs. Tellico starts at 6:30
  10. We're not that far away from August 20th. I'm really excited to get football season underway and see this game. Go Polk!!
  11. First of all, I want to congratulate Loudon on the win. They were a good bit bigger on the line and that's what won the game. Both teams had big plays here and there, but in the end Loudon was more physical and was able to run the ball very well. They will give Alcoa a game next week if they play like they did tonight. Secondly, I want to say how proud I am of this Wildcat team. They had our first undefeated regular season and made it past the first round of playoffs. I know the seniors on this team, and a big thanks to them for giving their all this season.
  12. I have seen them play twice buc, and they left a tread mark on your baby blue just like we did!! Just cause central couldnt compete with them doesnt mean Polk or Loudon can't or won't. Loudon stuck with them as well as anyone has this season. Bad news buc, the measuring stick for how good a team is in our district no longer wears blue. It should be a head knocker tonight!!!!! Go Wildcats!!!! I hate to agree with the doc but i'm faced with no other choice. Blitznbuc cant face the fact that we arent a football power. polk didn't care how good we were supposed to be, or south pittsburg and im sure they dont care how good loudon is supposed to be or how good alcoa is supposed to be. having seen the cats play a couple times and talking to polk fans, i think polk's greatest strength is their focus and preparation. That with the combination of some very underated athletes make polk dangerous to ANY opponent. God i cant believe im takin up for the wildcats!! Nonetheless good luck tonight polk. I hope you guys win and get to go to Alcoa. That is Polk Co. football and what Coach Davis has instilled into the program and players. Being a player before for Coach Davis, They don't care how good the opposing team is; they prepare very well on what the opposition does and comes out ready to play with their heart and lay it all on the line with the game plan at hand. Anyway, tonight will be an epic battle of two very respected programs who are coached great. I was wrong on the turnout last week, but this week I'm sure the stadium will be packed.
  13. This game can go either way very easily, it's just going to be determined out there on the field by how each team executes along with turnovers. We can all make predictions, but in the end its all up the in the air until the clock shows 0.0
  14. It's sad for our quad to be so loaded with good teams, and them having to play each other early rather than in the semi's or even the championship game, but that's just the way it goes I guess. All you can do is just put your nose to the grind-stone and play hard to win. Good luck to both teams injury wise; hope the Wildcats come out and play hard the way they have all year
  15. Sorry, but that's not the case. Just like it was said earlier, Polk has scrimmaged Loudon this year and respects them. Just because we have some overly-confident fans, doesn't mean that's how the team thinks. I can tell you it will be closer than 17 points. Anybody that knows football should know it will be a close game.
