  1. The secondary looked horrific that scrimmage. They got alot better. Not bashing the boys at all. Just stating the facts.
  2. This was the most disciplined team I have ever seen out of Memphis. I thought HC coaches knew what would happen if they didnt play possession football against a very talented team. The QB from SW was the deciding factor. He never got rattled, went through his progressions, and made the plays when needed. I think HC coaches made two critical errors this game. One was getting cute at end of 1st half with a minute to go and started throwing the ball instead of staying the course and giving his kicker a managable fg to go in the half up 4. Secondly, HC should have gone for 2 on the 3rd TD to try to go up 9 making it a two possession game in the 4th quarter to put maximum pressure on SW with such little time to go. I think HC had a great game plan to slow down SW but in the end, the talent level on offense was the deciding factor. Im a realist. SW has the best chance to win the gold ball between these two teams. They were a more rounded team that could afford to make a few mistakes. SW opened the playbook up where HC seemed to be holding on by a thread playing not to lose. I think SW beats Page by 14-21 next week and gives West all they want. The Pateiots have nothing to be ashamed of. For a team to look so bad in the preseason against Paducah to a very formidable foe in the playoffs was a testament to the development of these young men. Good luck to SW next week.
  3. One of the plays that sent HC to the third round. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02hw9nFzYg8dsaadQN6koW5q3TEk4EkRrNWiKGBfEmMxoFJFNfU6JmjQ7dWzB9m5Tbl&id=1599480833&mibextid=ZbWKwL
  4. So I guess its a bad etiquette thing all over nashville area then so that makes it ok. Every once in a while, ok, but the whole time...com'on man.....complete and total disrespect. And furthermore, why do you need cheerleaders for the band? They were hype the whole game. I could be wrong but I think artificial noise makers are not allowed during game play in the TSSAA guidelines.
  5. I would personally like to thank the Green Wave band for the concert they did every time Henry County had the ball. It was like putting music to highlight plays. Really got the HC fans fired up and the HC players too. Even the coach was dancing on the field. And to top that off, when coach Counce said something to the person who appeared to be the director, she decided to try to shout him down and scold him. He pointed to the scoreboard and walked away. Its disrespectful for a team's band to play every minute you have the ball to try to make it difficult for the coaches and players to communicate. May have been why the dogs weren't called off till the last drive of the game. The Gallatin players held themselves to a high standard of sportsmanship the whole game and my hats off to them for their great sportsmanship during the game. This being said, the band WAS really good though but the director needs to learn some etiquette.
  6. This was what I saw tonight. I saw the refs make a couple horrible calls/no calls on the HC sideline. One was the catch down by the goal line in the last 3 mins of the second quarter on 3rd down. The player was in the air when he caught it and landed out of bounds by 6 inches or more. This play changed momentum all the way to BW. Second one was the noncall of pass interference on the DB that grabbed Odoms right in front of the ref and he saw nothing. Big drive killing no call. Secondly, there was no adjustments made to the defensive secondary in the second half. BW KILLED them with 2 plays. First was the screen play that they ran about 15 times and the other was the slot receiver running a slant right behind the LBs and splitting the safeties for long gash plays. The fans could see it but apparently the coaches in the press box couldn't. And furthermore, even though running the ball is your bread and butter, you cannot run the ball against 8 and 9 man fronts. There's no way. Damrons talent is being wasted if you won't let him throw the ball down field some to loosten up the defense some. Running the same roll out pass play every time its 3rd and long wont work neither. You cannot roll the QB out to the right and half your receivers be running plays toward the sideline on the left essentially giving him 2 options instead of 4. Thats a terrible play design. The formula has been shown at how to be the Pats. Will the coaches fix it or keep on with the same strategy is the question.
  7. No offense mhs, but Alcoa will score as many as they want on CPA. That is a different breed of football over there. (But Fulton would smash them....lol)
  8. Camden was up 41-0 at half. Probably a little better than at beginning and Fairview had dropped some key players to boot...
  9. They aren't Memphis fast.....Just saying! That's why the big time D-1 speedsters come from Memphis and not rural West TN. You know, the ones classified as "athletes" on Rivals.
  10. No offense but I'm thinking Waverly doesn't get any further than Camden. I think Fairley or Manassas will scorch them. Their speed is gonna hurt the Tigers. They don't always play great ball, but always have the fastest players on the field.
  11. Waverly doesn't have a snowball's chance in you know where. They are so overmatched.
  12. Camden has played several teams out of Memphis and most were respectful and good sportsmen. Many times a few bad seeds spoils the bunch. Fairley is a good program. Waverly better be ready for speed they haven't seen all year. Seriously.....
  13. Deshawn Brown, Camden RB, Johnny Jones, Crockett County RB, and Keyshawn Vaughn, Pearl Cohn RB are my AA football Back finalists with the award going to Johnny Jones.
  14. Those aren't that long of a drive. Henry County drives over an hour to every game they play away from home. Sometimes going to Memphis out of district. To Clarksville every week is 1 1/2 hour drive. Jackson isn't but 20 minutes from Milan, South Gibson, etc....
  15. Crockett Co the only team in West that can give Fulton a game this year in championship game. They are very talented and have a special RB in Johnny Jones. That being said, Fulton is the best team in 4A. They should win the championship again this year. Probably won't score 84 but will definitely put up some points. Please delete the video at beginning of post cause the song is annoying as hades. A lot of teams don't want to schedule up in fear of losing a game that could cost them a road playoff game. On the other hand, uppers don't want to schedule down in fear of losing to a smaller school and missing the playoffs.
