  1. That stinks. It's pretty bad to have such a good preseason tourney on such a CRAPPY field when there are OTHER fields around in much better shape. The people at East need to light a fire and get Sherwood finished. It shouldn't take two years to fix the field.
  2. Tell Casey that I wish him the best. We struggled his last two years at Cocke Co. I am sure he is ready for a winning season with enough players to not worry about whether he is going to have enough show up to play. My son is now at Greeneville, hoping to help out all he can. Good luck this season.
  3. Has anyone heard where the Lakeway Classic games that were supposed to be played at Sherwood are going to be played?
  4. TJ Knight (P) & Matt Cutshaw (3B) Greeneville Austin Bridgewater (P) Morristown West Joey Belcher (P) & Kory Miller © Jefferson County Trey McMillan (P) & Chase Quarles (MIF) Cherokee
  5. From knowing Coach Taylor I will assure you that he will have his Dragons ready to play. He is all baseball, and he makes his players all baseball.
  6. Kenny, that is the funniest post Ive ever seen.6'5,6'5,6'8 prinston style.LOL jmpshtr101..now I know how you knew so much about me when we were posting in the other Cosby thread that was rudely intruded upon by a certain CCHS fan.
  7. If you have any questions how we feel about our Cosby Eagles, then all you have to do is look at all the threads that have been started about them, and then sit back and read. We think that Cosby is the greatest, plain and simple. But why would we be dumb enough to get on here and give all the West TN people a free scouting report?
  8. What was that about the cellar-dwellars..?? Final score SCHS-12 JCHS-8 No thats not a typo either..Sevier County wins. Season starts in 6 days..Hope everyone is ready.
  9. Congrats Cosby!!! Good luck showing all of TN that East TN basketball is legit. It is nice to see Cosby and Greeneville showing that East TN boys know how to play a little round ball.
  10. Timmy Blakely...Region MVP...congrats Timmy Wish I could be in two places at once...Greeneville hosting substate and Cosby hosting substate.
  11. Hey Seth, that would be Tacoma Hospital, not Laughlin...
  12. It could happen depending on how far away the back stop is and how far away from the catcher the ball was. Also, it could have been that the catcher made a bad throw to 3B trying to throw him out.
  13. Yes he did. He transfered in at the start of the school year. Hope he can step in and help out a pretty good program.
  14. In the IMAC: G'ville: TJ Knight & Matt Cutshaw Jeff Co: Joey Belcher & Kory Miller Cocke Co: Blaine Hartsell Cherokee: Trey McMillan & Chase Quarles M'town West: Austin Bridgewater
  15. Any latest news going on in the IMAC? Anyone heard how many players Cocke County has this year?
  16. This guy probably doesn't even know what a Wal-Mart Distribution Center is... He probably thinks it is somewhere they distribute weed or some other drug.
  17. Landair Transport brings in quite a bit of money to the county also. Plus Mr. Niswonger puts a fair share of money into the school systems.
  18. I heard he had already signed with Univ. of Virginia.. Dont know if it is correct or not. Maybe someone can give us an update.
  19. Jordan Greenway @ Greeneville.
  20. Softball season is upon us. Any predictions on how this one is going to go?
  21. Kory gave up wrestling to concentrate on baseball.
  22. Kory is capable of being the everyday starter. He is a hard worker and perfectionist, and can make a pitcher better. He has caught for my son the last 2 summers and fall, and he has always brought out his best for every game. As for Greeneville, a kid named ?Merkel?.. or at least that is what my son has told me..we are new to G'ville this year so I am having to learn the kids' names.
  23. Per article in Newport Plain Talk: Athletic Director Larry Williams announced yesterday that out of some 30 to 35 applications, they have narrowed that number to seven. Those seven candidates will be interviewed through next week beginning today. Although names have not been released, Coach Williams says that of the seven candidates, one comes from Middle Tennessee, another from Kentucky, three from Georgia and two from South Carolina. The interviews are being conducted by Coach Williams, School Board member Ken Johnson, CCHS Principal Gary Williams, and CCHS Assistant Principal Dennis Balch. Coach Williams says they hope to narrow the field to two to three finalists by the end of next week, and hope to name the new head coach by the end of the month. The new coach will replace Wes Jones, who resigned just days after the close of this past football season, a season that saw the Fighting Cocks go just 1-and-9.
  24. That is true about Joey..he has good velocity and a good curveball, but if he gets upset over anything, he has a hard time keeping his composure. I have seen Joey play summer ball the last 3 years, and he has the stroke to hit a few out of the park on any given night, especially on an inside pitch. I am anxious to see how he handles the pressure of varsity play. Who is going to be the starting catcher at Jeff this year? Kory Miller has the talent, but I don't know if someone else has more senority than him.
