1. QUOTE(PTSportsWriter @ May 5 2007 - 12:26 AM) 826452228Cocke County used a great outing by Hartsell and received timely, clutch hitting (scored 4 of their 8 with two men out).

Jefferson County looked bad at times and didnt seem to play inspired ball.

Brummett isnt Jefferson County's number one either I heard many folks saying.

No offense, PT, but with CC's record, who would have used their #1 pitcher?

  2. QUOTE(cosbybasketball30 @ May 2 2007 - 09:41 AM) 826449801Well I be, somebody knows me pretty well. to be be a eaglefan u know what GP was doin farily well lol. and another thing that wasnt nothin to tell tha grandkids about we were allready up. the story to tell them is what i did against greenback. we were down 5-2 in tha bottom of tha 7th an i hit a 3 run shot to tie it up. we went on to win in tha 8th. now thats a story.

Dont sweat it twinny, cause you and your bro are gonna be making COLLEGE football memories in a few months. Good luck at E&H. Make Cosby proud.

  3. QUOTE(utilityplayer00 @ Apr 16 2007 - 11:29 PM) 826439072heard that belcher was knocked pretty hard by the trojans, thought he was the ace?

Ask Dontrelle Willis, Roger Clemens, Andy Petite, Mariano Rivera, etc, how easy it is to have a bad day and get knocked pretty hard. I'm not making excuses for Belcher, nor am I knocking West's bats, just saying that no one is perfect, and anyone can have a bad day.

  4. QUOTE(PTSportsWriter @ Mar 29 2007 - 10:36 PM) 826426185Apparently you - nor I - got invitations to the polling booth...

And as for the original poster's comments, I believe everyone here was picking the Cocke County Roosters/Cocks/Big Red, et al. for last, not the Chiefs.

QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 30 2007 - 01:30 AM) 826426357Everyone I know or talked to was picking Cherokee in the top half before the season started. I myself thought it would be close second between them and west. No way anyone thought they were worse than CC, JC or East

    Who cares...????? basketball season is over. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Besides you guys couldnt pick a cherry if it was the last 1 on the tree. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

You know Im just kiddin, PT.

  5. QUOTE(eagle26 @ Mar 27 2007 - 12:30 AM) 826423586From the Greeneville scores I've been seeing, it seems they can put up some runs. Also seems they've managed to give up quite a few. Young pitching?

No, young defense, that has been erratic at times.

  6. Turned out to be a pretty good game. A little sloppy on the East side, but hey we'll take a win anytime we can get one. 16 hits for Greeneville. Hopefully the bats will stay hot for the double header tomorrow.

What pitching does East have after Collins?

  7. QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 26 2007 - 10:31 PM) 826423456What about that win you predicted last week, glad you finally came out of hiding

    Easy now DZ..dont get her stirred up again. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  8. QUOTE(shedevil4 @ Mar 26 2007 - 01:05 PM) 826423027You downed us now its my turn studmuffin .. you obviously aren't a real athlete..or you'd know a little bit about wat u were talking about..brad ramsey is a catcher..not a pitcher..i'm suprised u even know where he goes to school...so get ur crap straight....

With Coach Altizer manning the show at East this year, you never know who will be pitching. Ramsey IS the catcher, but with his arm strength, I wouldnt put is past Altizer to try Brad on the mound. With 3 conference games right in a row, you have to have a deep pitching staff because anything can happen. Just ask Jeff County. They had to use 5 pitchers in one game to beat the Devils in a 9 innings slugfest.

  9. QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 21 2007 - 05:52 PM) 826419618Joe Byrd was there last night, and you were complaining about the sun /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Hey, we're on a roll. That's two games covered this year. Two weeks into the season and we've already doubled up our coverage from last year. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

  10. QUOTE(LAfan @ Mar 21 2007 - 02:42 PM) 826419473you are not out for stepping on the plate unless it is while u are striking the ball then it is 2U. Otherwise after you hit the ball you can jump up and down on the plate if you want it is just another base

Ok thanks. I think what happened is when the batter squared to bunt he had his left foot on the plate.

  11. QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 21 2007 - 01:40 PM) 826419423Don't wish me good luck. I just write about it.

    Speaking of writing about it..thought you was gonna email me /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  12. Well my interpretation on the matter, albeit probably doesnt amount to much, is that the coaches want the pitchers during the game to concentrate on pitching. I think all players should get a chance to hit, but if a particular kid is struggling with the bat and is pitching that game, then why put double pressure on him when struggles at the plate sometimes leads to mind games and struggles on the mound.

  13. QUOTE(shedevil4 @ Mar 21 2007 - 12:01 PM) 826419344hey dz your guys are going to get it tonight.....we'll see how it all unfolds...with cutshaw pitching u guys dont have a chance....so good luck

Easy there shedevil...seems to me that Jeff has already taken two games from us. Until the guys learn to put a stop to the mistakes, it won't matter who is pitching for Gville. Jeff proved last night that good hitting and smart base running can level out a young and inexperienced pitching squad for them.

  14. It may be a while before we hear from DZ again. It will take him weeks to type up a story about the humdinger of a game with Greeneville and Jeff County tonight. Greeneville scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game @ 10, and Jeff pulled it out in 9 innings 14-13.

  15. QUOTE(orange~is~tradition @ Mar 15 2007 - 11:29 AM) 826412785Greenway pitched four innings of 1 run 3 hit ball. (He is Greenevilles ace, not cutshaw and for sure not Knight, Cody Duncan is probably greenevilles 2nd best pitcher)

Cutshaw came in in the fifth and gave up four earned runs in 3 innings. Also with men on first and second GHS's CF made a play at the warning track to save the game.

Cutshaw is probably Greeneville's fourth or fifth best For sure not 1 or 2 and probably not three.

    /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> I can't believe it is only 4 days into the season and someone is already on here bashing players. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

  16. QUOTE(PTSportsWriter @ Mar 13 2007 - 10:26 PM) 82641085424-2?

So much for the talk that has came from the reservation lately...

    My thoughts, exactly. And I heard that was with Cherokee's ""ace"" pitching.. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

  17. QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 13 2007 - 10:46 PM) 826410908Jefferson County beat Rutledge tonight in five innings 15-5, 14 hits and three homeruns. Patriots play Halls Thursday and Pigeon Forge Friday, with possible games on Saturday.

Hey DZ, did Joey Belcher pitch for JC? Who hit the HR's. And to think everyone has been saying JC is down this year.

  18. QUOTE(PTSportsWriter @ Mar 13 2007 - 07:50 PM) 826410607West beat Greeneville

Was the lopsided score in the CC game due to poor pitching or bad defense?

West beat Greeneville 4-1. West pitched Bridgewater (their ace) and Greeneville pitched their #4 man in the rotation. Matt Cutshaw went yard on the 2nd pitch of the game for Greeneville.

I saw over on a Rutledge/PF topic that Rutledge beat Cherokee 24-2 yesterday. Anyone got any detailes about the game?

  19. QUOTE(Coach Bigdog @ Mar 13 2007 - 08:39 AM) 826409922Rutledge 24

    Cherokee=2

The pioneer bats finally woke up!!!!!!!!!!!

Jefferson County tonight at 5 , we will see if they are for real this week.

    Wed Pigeon Forge 5

    Thurs Hall 7:30

    Sat T.B.A.

Does anyone know who pitched for Cherokee?

  20. You have to give Eual some credit here of late. He has been on top of things since all the complaints. I am glad to see he has listened and adapted what he does. As a supporter it makes me feel better. I hope they can make it down and support the Lady Devils in the Boro.

Be happy that you are getting coverage. The baseball and softball teams don't get any coverage by the Sun.
