  1. that bit about johnson is about the worst thing i've ever heard, that blows like katrina. and john adam looked really intense. could someone please stab me in the middle of a race sometime so i can try it?
  2. steeplechase is technically in the city of Belle Meade. But congrats to the THS girls.
  3. wow, participation on these boards has diminished to nil. HF looks stronger this year than years past, but it would be difficult to upset FRA unless you could consistently put 4 or 5 guys under 18.
  4. unless you're running for time... which, unless you want to be the fifth highschooler to break 4 or something, is pointless.
  5. uh-huh... yeah, everybody's going.
  6. i can't blame you, after that debacle last year...
  7. second only to the "McShowdown"
  8. i'm not gonna argue that.
  9. with a spectacular performance from lipscomb's own jeff musick. he manged third behind anneken and ramsden, with a 16:37, i believe.
  10. CCS last 5 can beat you guys, in a near shut out. I'll bet USJC, DL, or MLK's JV could beat you soundly.
  11. oh my god i'm not going to respond any further
  12. little harsh? but MC is definately going to be top 10, what are you talking about?
  13. i don't know if i can take this guys. coniglio was more than a friendly rival, he was a hero to me. he knew every stat of every runner ever. from the almighty halls to the lowliest 30+ runner. it was inspiring the way he encouraged everyone to go out there and try their best, whether triumph came in the form of a 16 minute 5k or just finishing the race. he was more than a great competitor and athlete, he was a great person. there was something in that crazy mop of hair he had (more than just an infestation, i mean) it symbolized something, something greater, like a divine spirit that guides all of us in our actions, on and off the course. he was a beacon in the darkness for those who brave the most brutal of sports. i dedicate the rest of my career to honoring his memory, and i will be present at the vigil. i encourage all of you who knew him, knew of him, or simply read something he posted on here to do the same. i will be sporting a black ribbon on my uniform at state, as will the entire CCS team, and, i believe, many A/AA competitors. RIP conigs.
  14. you have to be the most insensitive person on these boards. we're all trying to deal with his loss and you get on and disgrace his name like this? you disgust me. "are you hurt?" great pun, wish i was cold enough to think that one up. lord, i was just starting to forget too, and you come on here just bringing it all back. don't you understand? there is a hurt associated with losing a fellow runner, especially someone as active as coniglio. his presence will be sorely missed. if you're reading this conig, i love you.
  15. coniglio, that's entirely too much effort... but thanks. and as i've said before, USJC had to run in the heat. expect them to contend VERY well with MLK in november. it should be a tight finish, not that it'll get any attention, as it is A/AA. but it's gonna be a tight race.
  16. USJC had, i think, an impressive showing. they went blow for blow with MLK's times last week pretty comfortably. and if you factor in the heat, i'm tempted to say they have a slight advantage.
  17. i see that thing 3 times a week, at least. i hate steeple, not because it's a bad course, it's just monotonous as all get out come november after you've run it 5 times and practiced on it several dozen more.
  18. A. F. Bridges is this saturday. USJC is supposed to come as well. though MLK won't make this one, so we don't get to see them duking it out til state.
  19. dang, conigs, that blows hard. you better take it easy for awhile, i expect to see you taking it out way too fast at state.
  20. and a great 2 mile on the part of the oh so lovable Matt Coniglio.
  21. that's an understatement. great races today on the part of more or less everyone who finished in the top 25.
  22. i think musto is gonna win it for CCS. it may be a long shot though...
  23. gotta go skywalker on this one. just to give the rest of us hope at state.
