  1. It was literally a primal, animal like bark or grunt. This as he jerked his elbow back as if he was about to get violent if not left alone. There were no words spoken.
  2. Fans, parents or any else, are not supposed to go onto the playing surface for any reason. This is a rather unfortunate situation that the administration at Centennial will most assuredly have to address. RC took the coach aside and had a nice long conversation about the incident. I hate to think that those coaches are going to get in trouble for the actions of the father. Unfortunately we all know that coaches are responsible for controlling their fans and educating them as to their boundaries. Personally I would have liked to have seen security swarm and drag the guy out, although that would not have been what is best for our sport. After he barked at the coaches, people he knows and trusted with his child, like a rabid dog, a full on battle with security, perfect strangers, would have been entertaining.
  3. Walkenvol, don't you mean hope there's nothing badong that kept you away. Killing is wrong... and bad. There should be a new, stronger word for killing... like "badwrong" or "badong." Yes, killing is "badong." Anyone get the reference? Personally I have no problem with the coaches poll or who votes in it. MLK pours his heart into the endeavor and we should/have commended him for it.
  4. This year, yes. There is an ESPN basketball game on Saturday at McKenzie Arena so we were bumped a day earlier.
  5. Raider76, I was referring to chunkypoo's accusation that "But this school has never cared much for the rules before so why would they start now?". I have never known anything other than respect and decency from the coaching staff and athletes over at Houston.
  6. And you base this belief on what? State some examples to back up your claim.
  7. He could have weighed in anywhere in the 160 class, like around 155, and bumped to 171. That would give him enough time before Ryan to get down to 152.
  8. Just make sure you leave your tougher kids at home or they will receive a forfeit or two.
  9. They were. This is not a high school event. Teams were not allowed to use school names per TWF policy. Teams use their club names during TWF events..
  10. The job listing says that they are looking for someone with a proven track record and an experienced head wrestling coach. With all due repect to Rusty and Kevin, this tells me that someone fresh from college need not apply.
  11. 2 time state champion who almost got pinned in his semi-final match. He only won that match 10-8 and fought off his back for a good portion of the second period. This does not qualify him as one of the best. Felix, Bundy, D. Johnson, J.M. Simpson and Manson (in no particular order) all were the class of the tournament. No one touched any of them. They are the best 5 in the state. I will not rank them, but you can.
  12. Based on your login name it is understandable that you have no idea what dragon12 is referring to. Only those that have actually attended the state tournament and competed in it would understand. Seeing how there have been no wshsspartans in the state for the last couple of years I can see how you could come to the conclusion that you came to. In reality, IF you qualify, all of region 10 supporters will be cheering you on as well just as they do everyone else.
  13. If regions were to be wrestled at this point these are the likely top seeds in Region 10. 103 - Emmanuel Bernal - Germantown (edited) 112 - Demetrius Johnson - Munford 119 - Chris Livingston - Houston 125 - Jonas Gibbs - Ridgeway 130 - Preston Selby - Arlington or Ben Carr - Cordova 135 - Chris Reynolds - Cordova 140 - Ashten Johnson - Munford 145 - Ben Scott - Ridgeway 152 - Brandon Wright - Houston 160 - Steven Geyer - Germantown 171 - Zach Lee - Cordova (edited) 189 - Josh Bourland - Bolton 215 - Brett Rogers - Collierville 275 - Todd Bridgeforth - Cordova (edited)
  14. To those that wish to accuse wrestlers of taking the easy road to win a state title, understand that the well publicized weight issues of Borneman before his senior year were greatly exagerated by usfjim and myself just for fun. He stayed around 175 in the summer, not the 190 to 200 that usfjim stated. usfjim loves to stir the pot and keep people guessing as to the reality of the situation. A 10% reduction in body weight is not by any means unreasonable for a wrestler. Even though Knox went undefeated does not equate to Borneman running. Anyone who knows him knows he will wrestle with anyone at anytime. Are you telling me that Knox was a natural 171 pounder before wrestling season or did he run from Meredith to an easier weight class so he could get his state title? Did Coleman run from Ortiz? Did Felix run from Creagan? Did Fuller run from Felix? This is basically what is being said about Borneman.
