  1. Coach Eden teaches social studies at the middle school and is a paid assistant. Not sure about the coaching style you speak of
  2. From what I understand, the new principal at Scotts Hill wanted to go in a new direction. He has problems with Coach Woodmore the day he arrived. Such a shame too. Woodmore did all he could do with the talent available at Scotts Hill. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Someone better scoop him up. Maybe McNairy will consider him. He lives in the area I believe
  3. Dude was a great football player at BA before he was ever recruited, sorry transfer, to Oakland. Dobbs coaches O-line/TE, the other guy is JV/Qb's, so neither helped this guy develop as you claim he did. I agree, Creasy is amazing, wins everywhere he goes. Would love to have him back here, but neither Vettoe nor Dobbs is even close to Creasy.
  4. It was not for middle school. Middle school was coached by Clint and they practiced 55 minutes a day during 5 period. Only practiced two weeks before school started. Practice was about 90 minutes
  5. I did wear the purple and gold. I’ve had a little of Dobbs’ grizzly wintergreen in my face. Love the guy, he is a great person and O-line coach. But he is not a HC.
  6. You are condoning yelling, screaming and cussing at 10-12 year olds. Getting ejected out of a YOUTH league game and arguing with parents afterwards. Then they go to the middle school, there the egotistical coach there is constantly trying to prove he is worthy of being the next guy, that they practice 3 hours a day for 9 months a year. Then, by the time these same kids are freshman they are burned out from all this egotistical bs because some youth coaches want to pound their chest and try and prove they are the second coming of Clint. This is exactly why the program is in the shape that it’s in
  7. It must be difficult to call plays at Oakland. Do we hand it to the transfer Oregon commit? Do we throw it with the transfer 4* Qb or do we hand it off to the UT commit? Notice how much talent it took for them to get championships. You’re right, they didn’t win it with the NFL guy on the team. It obviously takes more than one to win. Same can be said for Satt and his QB this season.
  8. Dude has never called an offensive, defensive or special teams play in varsity football. Heard he was great at yelling at 10-12 year olds though. Moore Co. Got better when Dobbs left to go to Oakland. They were a 7-4 football team and he leaves they win 11-14 games a year now.
  9. I think the West kids dad is the head coach at the middle school. So I just have to wonder who the next head coach will be at the middle school? No way they allow him to continue his role with his son playing in Macon. Especially when he harps on what it means to be a jacket and playing on the hallowed ground at the Creek Bank. Kinda makes him sound like a hypocrite if you say that to middle schoolers and then allow your son to transfer to the school that fired him previously
  10. There is no such thing as a 12 month contract. That term means your coaching supplement will be equivalent to two extra months salary. $45,000 per year divided by 10 months = 4,500 per month. That equals to a $9,000 supplement for head coach. Softball is around $4,500 and athletic director is around 2,500 in TC. That’s 61,000. I do agree that’s above average pay. But to Bruce’s argument, it’s not enough for any of the coaches. And I would be willing to bet he is the 3rd or 4th highest paid coach in the district. Metro, Wilson, Sumner, Robertson schools pay much better overall for their teachers and coaches.
  11. He is also the head softball coach and the athletic director. All of those positions have supplemental income attached. So he is not making that as just the football coach.
  12. Just to emphasize that point, 4th place ER beat Forrest which is playing this week too.
  13. As a tc graduate yourself, you would know
  14. I understand hypocrites and sarcasm.
  15. So, it’s only an excuse when someone from TC says anything about the officiating?
  16. I’ve read this long enough. There was not one single punch thrown between the said coach and player. He did grab his facemask and said some things that a coach should never say to a player. The initial response from administration was a two practice suspension. Not much of a punishment for said assault. Before the player left the field, the said coach apologized to the player, shook his hand and apologizes to the boys mother. Said and done. The suspension took place because of a lack of respect shown towards administration. The said coach didn’t feel like he deserved to suspended and was insulted that his integrity was being questioned. 53 day suspension. Never fired. Was asked to return to coaching, even by Blake. He left to join his best friend at another school. Not forced, left on good terms. So enough about the assault, because it wasn’t.
  17. That would make it an illegal formation. Same signal as an illegal procedure from the referee
  18. Last I checked, Trousdale, Mt. Juliet, South Pitt, and yes, Oakland, all run the Wing-T. So maybe its not the offense.
  19. How do you define success in high school football? Wins and Losses? Character of Players past and present? Improvement or failure to meet expectations? How do you set expectations for High School football?
  20. Creasy>Clint. Not even close. Anyone could have called plays for the teams Clint won championships with. Creasy never had as much talent as Clint had to work with. That is a fact
  21. You stay at the school you have always attended. If you have the ability to play ball at the next level, colleges will find you. The players can go to camps and other places to be seen by recruiters.
  22. Would this information fall under public records? If so, the list had to be given upon request. Just a thought, I could be wrong.
  23. This is unusual circumstances because Dr. Satterfield has a son in the mix for the job. In my opinion, Blake is a strong candidate for this job for many reasons. I believe the list went public because it allows people see who all was interested and who was possibly the best fit. It would be a good defense against all those in the community who might cry foul if and when Blake is hired. This is my humble opinion and could very well be wrong. I also have my opinion about the Vidette, but that is a whole different conversation
