  1. yeah sorry for seeming a little pathetic about the loss...no excuses...i hear jackson county played a great game....congratulation's on a trip to state...i wish yall the best of luck...good season patriots...didnt end the way we wanted or expected...but none the less great season....
  2. i didnt hear it personally but 4 out of 7 people i talked to that were at the game heard it....and were extremly offended...sadly i wasnt able to attend...and im not sure if it was that big of a problem but i trust the people that told me they heard it...because i dont think they would play around with something like that...especially under the circumstances of losing...
  3. you know it didn't have anything to do with the fact that csas had no fan support in a hostile environment...a place where the n word was used excessively...and that one of their top scorers was sidelined with an injury...its a sad thing most of the student section was playing a baseball game tonight...its hard to believe that its over for csas....very depressing to those loyal fans and those 7 seniors that wanted a ring more than you can imagine...
  4. i dont think it will be nearly as exciting as everyone thinks....i think csas is going to surprise a few people....i say csas by 15....somewhere around 65-50....i think four of the five starters will be in double digits....ball i think will have double digits in assists....and off the bench i expect a lot of production....mckoy will struggle...he always does against grace...but i still think he will hit double digits...and make a huge difference defensively....carter mcmasters and brandon herman will be the only factors for grace...shaughnesy wont be much of a factor at all....and fuquan...if he plays is no better than the first one or two guards grace puts in off the bench....csas is going to play better than anyone expects....and i see them making a lot of noise going into the region finals...and i am a believer that csas will make it to sub-state and that, that game will be at home....but we'll see...
  5. yeah if anyone has lookout valley in the region they obviously dont know much about lookout valley this year or the region....youll see grace, temple, 21st century, and silverdale out of 5A...both are capable of upsets....21st century is highly skilled just poorly coached and not well polished....in 6A youll see, CSAS, South Pitt, Whitwell, and Sale creek....i think region semis depending on the seedings will probably be CSAS, Temple, Grace, and Silverdale...i think simplybecause of coaching silverdale will win when it counts in the district and quarter finals but will be out skilled in the semi's...21st century has the talent but probably wont make it to the semi's especially if they are matched up against CSAS they play the same style game though CSAS much more polished and better coached as well as being deeper...your gonna see a CSAS Vs. Grace/temple...which ever one they dont play in the semi's....and i think CSAS wins this region in a very exciting region tourney...But districts...Grace wins 5A and CSAS wins 6A hands down...
  6. Avery washington is a senior at csas and he has been the "water boy"/manger basically since he was a freshman, he tried out every year and never made the team, everybody loves avery but theyll tell you he is no where near being athletic, he has severe asthma and no disrespect intended isnt exactly slim....and he is the nicest guy in the world but in all honesty hes very simple minded and has a very naive view of the world....anyway coach dragoo let him dress out on senior night...and he just about had an asthma attack durin warmups lol jk....but anyway with around three min. left the student section started cheerin his name....and dragoo put him in the game....after he kind of figured out what was goin on he posted up at the three point line....and got the ball and launched one of his rocket style shots....that landed right through the net and everyone in the gym went nuts...it was the loudest ive ever heard it in there...and its loud every night....it was so emotional and everybody was so happy for him....im sure that will be the most memorable moment of his life by far...
  7. i know this isnt related to the board but just to point out accusing arts and sciences of recruiting is not only stupid but unpractical and unlike private schools there is no extra insensitive because it is free anyway....and just to prove my point 7 of their 12 players came to the school or csla in elementary school and 5 of those players entered kindergarten there while the lottery was still in place...and there wasnt a waiting list...and to further prove my point 3 of those 5 players start...the other two starters one is the principals son and the other came in 7th grade and didnt even play bball at the school until high school....oh and just to be on topic....i think the completion of the gym will do wonders for south pitts basketball program i can definitely see them being district contenders within the next couple of years with all that athleticism...
  8. oh i plan on a great game...i think that temple is playing better now than they could have hoped for at the beginning of the season...that pickett county game the other night was phenomenal at least the first half for the crusaders....i think it will be a much closer game thatn anyone expects and i dont believe the crowd will be a large as you think....the students of csas don't tend to get very into the temple games because they dont bring any students, just parents, staff and alumni...i plan on a great game out of cobb and mckoy and i think that will make the difference...AS wins by 5....somewhere in the 50 or low 60 range...
  9. thats exactly something i would expect a paramecium brain such as yourself to say...i was saying not you in particularly, people with mind sets like yours is what is wrong with our society and the world in general because they cause every other problem. and instead of egging this on why dont we stop and talk basketball since this is what this board is about...so ole 2seamer what are your thoughts on the arts and sciences temple game coming up friday??
  10. why dont you not jump on tdaddy because he speaks a certain way and supports his team with great passion...at least he supports a specific team it appears you simply bash the people speaking their opinions...let them post instead of having to correct them...fascist....your whats wrong with the world...respect his opinions and he'll respect yours...that is also whats wrong with this board...too much arguing and trying to make other people look bad instead of expression and discussion of opinions on one of our favorite past-times...
  11. you act like everyone doesn't use or say something like that on occasion...its just a board discussion on high school basketball not a research paper....and why may i ask, does that have anything to do with basketball??? kind sir from this day forward i plan on devoting my time spent on this board searching for your grammatical errors and letting everyone know about it upon discovery....I'm glad dbag...thanks maybe i wouldn't be such a moron and use fictional words if i had only enrolled in a private institution such as grace academy when i was a lad (too bad tuition costs more than my car, and I'm not 6'8), sorry that we can't afford grammar teachers at public schools either. I would however be glad to bring it up at the next school board meeting...my apologies on being off topic but i felt it necessary...another public school trait we don't like people insulting us and having the last word...us idiots...shucks....
  12. several of the cities finest athletes have left arts and sciences in middle school because the emphasis on academics over sports....kevin cooper, bj coleman, chas scruggs, Kyler Burke, Michael Brown, just to name a few..and on top the amount that have been asked to leave because of behavior are all over basketball teams around the city...
  13. at arts and sciences there are as many athletes as there are poets, actors, musicians, and singers....not to mention national merit semi-finalists...the majority of the school is not athletes....out of the approx. 420 high school students maybe 25% play a sport seriously....and the amount that athletics is their main priority is probably closer to 5 to 10%
  14. it wasnt like a usual home game....for some reason the fans that were actually there werent in the game at all, with a few exceptions....and on top it didnt seem like the patriots wanted to win that badly....even after losing i think they thought they could just walk through it.....hampton and cobb and townsend all played greatmckoy had his moments but the supporting cast wasnt doing so hot....also silverdale once again played really well....the patriots half court defense has been struggling of late and they are going to need to be on the top of their game next friday for a much improved temple team.
  15. the score was 69-54 tdaddy couldnt have been much closer....y weren't u at the game tdaddy???
