  1. I just want to say to the Temple guys...Congratulations... 3 years in a row is a great accomplishment.... Now.... dont be satisfied......work your butts off in practice and it will pay off... It has for the past 2 years....Lets try and make it 3....Dont think about us not having any seniors and that we always have next year..... you never know what can happen, There are no guarrantees for next year, so take advantage of this year. Lock down, rebound, and for goodness sake someone take a charge. The offense is going to come, just worry about the defensive end of the floor. Seth, Dee, and Josh....you guys arent freshmen anymore..... play like sophmores... play like it is your last season..... Zack, Sean, and Caleb....you guys are the heart of the team.... play like it and lead Temple back to the state title for the 3rd straight year.
  2. Temple will be playing in some very comfortable surroundings since they are playing in their own gym. They will host the district and region tournaments in Vance Gym. The Crusaders do, however, lack experience in big games. Although, Temple has played more overtime games this year then the past 2 years combined. That could play a major role in their freshmen coming of age. For Temple to do well in the tournament they will have to step up the defensive play from their freshmen and cut WAY back on their turnovers. This young team does not seem to value the ball like they should. Temple has a great chance to make it out of the region this year. They just need to rebound, cut their turnovers in half, and take some pride in the Temple "D" that has only been visible a few times this season. Temple has some very valuable experience in Caleb Skogen, Sean Wadley, and Zack Mouw. These three juniors played in some intense tournament games last year with Boyd, CCS, Grace, and Celina. Not to mention all three games of the State Tournament. I think for Temple to do well in the tournament they need to realize that offense comes and goes, but defense can always be a constant. The defense can always be there. I know that Coach Wadley and Coach Skogen stress this concept regularly. It seems that if Temple isnt hitting shots, then they get down on themelves and they think they arent playing well. Through my experience, I have come to realize that you can play well, even if you dont shoot well. All I want to say is that Temple will be ready at tournament time. They always are. They know that the road through the district and region will be tough. But, I feel they are up to the challenge. I cant wait until tournament time. It's gonna be fun this year. So many teams who have had close games with one another all year.
  3. Hey oldtimeballer i saw you at the game.....yet you say you were not there???
  4. Final Score Temple 72 21st Century 27
  5. To will87: Chattanooga Christian is very good. The only thing in their way is getting by Temple. CCS is very experienced. Temple is getting their now. Don't count out the Crusaders. They have played the toughest 1A schedule thus far and have survived it going 5-4. Remember 4 of those 9 teams have AAA or better. They have beaten East Ridge at their home court. I'm not saying Temple is better than CCS, but don't count Temple out. They have not lost to a single A school in Tn. in over 2 years. On January 22, 2004 @ CCS, Temple plays CCS. It will be a good Game.
  6. Yea seth does need to use his big body down low more..... hes 6 foot 3 and likes to hang around the 3......but theres nothing wrong with that when he shoots like he did tonight...but he could do some definite damage down low if he tries........ i have never noticed sean to shuffle his feet like that...but maybe ur right...... i had a problem with that before...but ill see about sean doing that...... and try to help him out
  7. Very good game tonight...... the better team came away with the victory......Ooltewah has alot of weapons, and Temple is so young and inexperienced and that really showed tonight.... Temple could not stop Courtney White, hes a very good player. Moton(beast inside), Augustino(nice shooter), and Newsome(great passer) were solid as well...... not impressed at all with #14 and #3. Wadley does not travel when he takes off... Wadley is a very solid player. I thought he played very good defense all night.. Seth and Caleb Skogen were both impressive...Temple has so much potential... I cant wait to see them come tournament time.
  8. Coach Wadley took over the boy's program after 15 years of running the girl's program at Temple. He had only 2 varsity kids that had any playing time at all. I believe he runs the same style of defense that Lefty Glascock put in. He has added many new sets in their offense and has kept what worked in the past. Temple's program was in good shape when Coach Templeton left it and it has continued to grow under Wadley and Skogen. In fact I believe Coach wadley and Templeton talk alot about the High school program as well as the University's program. They were and remain good friends helping each other when needed. At Tennessee Temple the basketball program remains one, from the elementary up to the University. They all run the same stuff. It's called the system.
  9. I watched Temple win their home opener against a very good school from Ga. They beat Providence Christian 68-63 in overtime. Temple scored 6 points in the last 11 seconds to send the game into overtime. They played with such intensity on defense. They are not big, but they make up the size with hard work and great team defense. I believe Providence Christian is a AA school in the Ga. Public School league. They played in the state tournmanet last year. Go Crusaders!!! Keep on playing the "D".
  10. Aaron Greene is not a good coach.... If you are asking for the most verbally abusive coach in the area, then yes Aaron Greene, but coaching wise??? no way I agree with Kent Smith and Dan Wadley....... Both great coaches in the area
  11. To Nick32. To say that only Jake could play on a AAA team a the state is a Farce. Ryan Wadley could have played on many of the teams up there. I saw many of the game and he can play the game. Ask Robert High of Brainerd he scored over 20 against them. He has guarded many AAA players in the summer as well as AAU Nationals. He has signed with Tn. Temple University. He turned down West Point this Year. Before you count out Temple as having any AAA players consider also Caleb Skogen. This is my opinion.
  12. did Temple beat Ooltewah by more than 10 this year or was that just my imagination...
  13. thekeg55: Both of these guys are seniors this year...
  14. There's been alot of talk about people getting 1,000 points in their career. At Temple they have Jake Skogen who just scored his 2,000 point last night vs. Grace. He has scored 2,009 points. Temple also has Ryan Wadley who has scored 1,229 points in his career. That's two on one team. Congrats to the Temple duo!!! Go Crusaders [Edited by 11833 on 2-5-03 1:04P]
