Same from me. Congrats to the girls - Greeeneville is proud of you all. Coach Eiskamp coached both my kids at GHS almost a decade ago. He is an excellent coach and has been role model for our kids in Greene County for > 20 years. A class act. Well deserved John - thank you.

Their goalie didn't even try stopping the ball. What would you do under those circumstances? This years Cumberland Gap game is similar as they are a new program. Look at the scores of other teams who played Cumberland Gap. There are many teams out there playing in similar situations. Page and Greeneville both are playing in conferences with markedly weaker teams that they must play. Look at Greeneville's non-conference schedule though and you can see Eiskamp trys to make up for it by playing the best whenever he can. There is no private/parochial school in Greeneville. Tusculum College has an influence on the soccer community here since it is such a strong D2 program and many of its soccer alumni stay in the area and either coach or have children in club program. The Greenville Soccer Association is to be commended on its club program since this is basically a very rural (and rabid football) area. The city population is 15,000 and county about 75,000 yet both Chuckey-Doak and Greeneville high have made it to States. I'm sure if Greeneville had been AA all along, several of its previous teams would have been to States.

Great game. Maryville scored first. Greeneville tied it with about 6 minutes to go and got the go ahead with less than 1 minute left in the game.

My son played on a U15 boys club team which was routinely beaten by 15 goals or more. It was the most humiliating season of his soccer life. It was painful as a parent to watch and more painful for him to play out the season. He went on to play in college but never forgot that season. Having gone through that with him, I am in favor of the "elite" program on the field on any given day show some sportsmanship and consideration for the other team.

GreenEville has only 2 seniors on their team - neither started as juniors. The core of the team is the incoming Junior class of about 11 girls most of whom started as Sophmores and all play together on the Galaxy club team. With the move to AA, I'd agree with MVM that Greeneville is a pre-season fav for a state run both this year and next.

I too am a graduating CoachT poster. My daughter is a Senior and played her last high school game 10 days ago. After 7 years of high school soccer (my son graduated 3 years ago) and too many years of club ball to count, I find myself depressed. Although my son went on to play in college as will my daughter, there is just something missing in the college experiance vs HS for both the players and parents (could part of it be CoachT?). I have tried to follow DonC's rules for CoachT posting but unfortunately being a hot headed Italian I have at times failed. If I offended any of you out there, I'm sorry. I will continue to follow my kid's alma-mater and area high school soccer in the future just because Ilovethisgame (I too played in high school about 4 decades ago) but it just won't be the same. However, my 5 year old grandson seems to be a natural with a soccer ball, so I may be back in about 10 years. Big G thanks for an outstanding job as moderator for this board all these years and DonC I have some questions about a particular college in the Chattanooga area. Would you mind if I emailed you with them?

Greeneville loses 7 Seniors/ 4 starters. Of the remaining starters 1 is a Junior the rest Sophomores. Two Sophomores on the bench (GK and Forward) would have started this year on most other teams in Region 1 AAA. Greeneville should do well in AA next year.
