  1. Gwave...yep. I just named two counties but I did think about adding Sumner. Could have went even farther and included Shelby and Knox. Again metro has good coaches. Brunetti at PC has had a lot of success. East has had success with two different coaches, CR had one great year. But other coaches in other counties have had the same success.

Back to topic, hope Overton gets a good coach. The good ones in the past stuck around awhile. Coutras, Mullican, and Anderson were all there several years. The last several coaches did not stay long. Any chance an alum comes home?

  2. Metro has had really good coaches, and really bad coaches. Yes kids get the credit when a team wins, and coaches take the heat when they lose. Always been this way I suppose. As for metro being the only county sending multiple schools to state......

    Rutherford: Riverdale, Oakland, Smyrna

    Williamson: Brentwood, Ravenwood, Indy, Summit

Only difference is these are schools that won, not just went. Come on now metro coaches deserve credit but don't act like they are the cream of the crop as a whole.

  3. I have heard a very intriguing name has applied for this job. I am honestly shocked this person would even be interested with the experience he has. I will be the first to admit I was wrong about Overton having a hard time finding a veteran coach. Only question is, will Overton see this coach as the right fit?

  4. Not sure how east is now, but when I worked there it was a lottery school. Also, transportation was not provided. Most students walked, rode the city busses, or were dropped off by others. We also did not manipulate our enrollment. Again, I'm not there any more but that is how it was. Why don't you Mr. Announcer do some research and let us know what you find out. Also, why don't you look at the facilities and resources of those that win state championships this year. Do facilities make a difference, heck yes they do. If you think otherwise you are clueless.

  5. From the outside, it appears as though GP is about as good now as they have ever been. Some kids and some parents will always find a way to complain about coaching. I would say GP staff must be doing a pretty good job if they made it a few rounds into the playoffs.

  6. I am not aware of all the facts, so I will not pass judgement. So for those saying LA did nothing wrong, did the boys from Mississippi move here with the same parents/guatdians/siblings they lived with in Mississippi or did just the boys move and an adult rotated in? Did an assistant coach text a family saying he had talked to a booster that was already covering for families that could not afford tuition? These are what the allegations are. Did any of this happen?

As far as the ruling goes, I understand the kids wanting to play and feeling like they did nothing wrong. I understand the parents wanting the kids to be able to play. However, this is a program consequence. It is what it is if the allegations are true. Follow the rules, keep things transparent and there is no problem.

Should be real interesting to see what happens next.

  7. I think most respect Hackett and the job he does. He hasn't forgotten how to coach. I think most like Webster but anytime your team doesn't perform, the noise will get louder. Watertown has all the resources to do good. Community support is there, facilities are great, talent is in the building/on team. Down years are going to happen, but H20 better right the ship or the support will fade away as seen on this thread.
