  1. Heard the Irish looked pretty good...Looks like all of that time out in the heat has payed off . But like every non Father Ryan fan will say...It was just a scrimage. But come friday it wont be a scrimage so lets hope they look as good as they sounded. Roll Pride
  2. So we are FINALY 1 WEEK AWAY FROM GAME DAY! how are both teams looking?
  3. First Father Ryan wont be at the bottom of DII, look for them to be in the middle and playing to close with some of the DII Giants. As for this game i take Father Ryan
  4. Haha alright Ill try my best to answer these to the best I can...1) I think that there is a sertain mentality they have as Freshman to prove themselves. So they go out and bust their hind ends but as they get older the forget that they still have to prove themselves everyday and they tend to get a little lazy. Granted thats my "theory" and could be completely wrong. I think in the past they have accepted that the varsity team was always going to be bad. Now with a new coach that mentality is starting to change and they are starting to realize that they can be good but they have to continue to work harder and harder.2) Last year they were able to beat CBHS and Briarcrest in league games along with BGA in a non league as well as JPII ( Note: these will count as league games this year). Unfortunatly CBHS came back and got their revenge in the playoffs. They also lost a close one to Baylor @ Baylor ( 24-21) and to McCallie ( 39-33) both games had a couple of missed FG's but yet again showed one of the Irish's biggest problems: Finishing games and making the big play. As for the year before (lussiers first year) they won no league games. Not many people were expecting them to. No coach could have come in and turned that program around so much that they were beating the MBA's Ba's and McCallies in his first year.3) As for this year I have them winning atleast 5 league games (JPII, BGA, Knox Webb, Ensworth, and MBA *the MBA game will be one of the most thrilling games of the season and I encourage everyone to come /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />*)4) This is the only question that I cannont answer. I dont know which players have quit and what their roles were last year. If you have any names im sure i could find out the reasons for and let ya know. My guess that they are kids who are heavely involved in other sports. In today's sporting world to be the best in a sport you really have to commit yourself year round to it.Haha alright Ill try my best to answer these to the best I can...1) I think that there is a sertain mentality they have as Freshman to prove themselves. 5. The Irish have some amazing athletes on that team, its just time for them to step up and play to their potential. You are going to have a very Athletic QB with a good arm and who can make plays on the ground. You have a very very deep RB group with a TON of potential. A very big and promising O Line with a couple of college prospects. Im not so sure about WR, Mark Mulloy is an amazing athlete and will be their go to guy but besides him I dont know what other options there are. Loosing Brooks Robinson at TE really hurt and I dont know who they will fill his spot with. On the other side of the ball you have some big fast D-Line men who are sure to get after the QB. Kevin Mix will turn out to be one of the better linebackers in the state and appears to be the anchor of the Deffense. Josh Hayes showed some signs of being a very good LB last year as well as some others. Secondary im not so sure on, Loosing Hole and TD Woods left some big gaps to fill back there. Bottom line is that its time for people to step up and make plays. The Irish have been saying that they are "On the way up" for a few years now but its time to start playing like it. Last year they were able to hang with BA ( for a half) and McCallie for most of the game, they just lacked the knock out punch player that both teams had. Hopefully the coaches have designed an offense that will utalize the athletism on that side of the ball and things will flow a little more smoothly this year. My prediction for this year is 8-2 (with a win over MBA /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ) and making it to the second round of the playoffs atleast. Good luck IRISH, ROLL PRIDE ROLL
  6. What about the events beside the mile and two mile Any predictions for Field Events, hurdles and sprints?
  7. sorry but all Centenial has is a 4X1 team and a couple of good sprinters but that is besides the point Question about the Hartmon results: I saw in the paper that a kid from BGA jumpe 6'4. Ive been around DII track for a while and I know that last year BGA didnt have a 6'4 high jumper. Is this a misprint or did it happen? Next i saw a girl from Brentwood run a 10.6 100. umm Misprint? Major Tail Wind? or do we have the next world class sprinter on hand?
  8. Okay BA may take it to MBA in sprints but if you look at field events MBA takes it easy. Shot put- Ben Bartholomew is the returning state champ and by the looks of it has a pretty good supporting cast behind him Discus- Up in the air, either school could take it. Pole Vault- Waddey jumped 14'6 a couple of days and they have two other vaulers who they say will be 13'6+ jumpers by years end. High Jump- Only one that BA beats MBA that is if Ben jumps well. Long Jump- Patrick Crum is now a 22+ long jumpers with E.J between 19-20. As for running events i dont know. BA can win but MBA can get more points by depth. MBA needs to hope that Tompkins can get healthy and try to repeat in the hurdles /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. BA is very good. Ben Davies, Tye Ford and the rest of the crew there are a solid team. But i think this year is MBA's year. If you were at the Highland Games you saw why, they dominated most of the field events and have some pretty good runners who will be able to put up points at state. I give this years state title to MBA
  10. If Flat coached at MBA I think you would have to call in the SWAT team for MBA vs BA
  11. I am 100% sure that they open week 0 with Hillsboro at Hillsboro.
  12. Even though most Father Ryan fans have moved on the the wrestling forums, How do yall think the Fightin' Irish will do next year. There will be some big gaps to fill with the loss of big play makers such as Batmen, Dempsy, Blair and Robinson, Who will step up and fill these spots.
  13. Where are yall finding these schedules for next year already?
  14. Drove by the old Brentwood YMCA on Concord and saw on the sign " We Belive, Go Ravenwood" After tonight Ravenwood seems to be for real, Riverdale seems to be the only opstical in their way to a second title
  15. Yes it did kind of bother me when I looked on the sideline and saw most of the people who are hurt with cell phones out...
  16. Another season done, what did everyone think and what do we have to look forward to next year.
  17. You cant win with 5 turnovers... Great season for the Irish... they should be very proud of how they have turned this thing around and we look forward to great things in the future.
  18. What a game First yall were right...Colemen is easily one the best QB in the state, and i see now why McCallie is favored and probably should win it all. Congrats on the win and best of luck to you in the playoffs Father Ryan..wow..I have not seen a Father Ryan team fight like that in a long time...sure there were some rough areas and there always will be, what i think 2 missed extra points and a field goal. The offense played outstanding and little number 3 ran with all he had. Defense looked a little off but steped up and got some points and some turnovers to get points. If this team can play like they did tonight I think that they may have a few more weeks left in their season.
  19. So McCallie fans were talking about the people who wouldnt may not see much time...who are they and what is their position, im not familier with the McCallie roster the only one i know of is their lights out QB
  20. I gatta go with MBA in this one....cant belive im saying this but GO BIG RED
  21. What happened to MUS this year, I thought for sure they would be contending, did they lose a bunch from last year? I know their RB went to Baylor.
