  1. Yea, he's got a little brother that's a pretty good athelete too. Plays football, baseball and basketball. Seems like he had an older brother too.......that was well.........let's just say maybe not as gifted. hahaha easy big fella
  2. Good luck to the Big Owls on Friday night! They seem to be playing much better now that they have the ground game going better. Owls in a close one.
  3. Good luck to the Tigers friday night! I'm going to be making my first trip down to South Pitt, looking forward to it!
  4. That 06' Owls team threw the ball pretty well. QB wasn't to bad....
  5. It has been the slowest week ever. How are the facilities at MTCS, what can we expect? Facilities -- brand new... and we built a separate one for the ladies. Based on the away games we have played our facilities are better than par for a 1A team. Field is in good shape. We played away on most of the games that were wet and muddy. We typically get comments regarding how nice the visiting locker rooms are. Don't expect the Taj Mahal but they are a good size. Home stands are bigger and nicer than the visiting stands (as you might expect). The airport runway is right behind the visiting stands (trying to work out fly-overs when we score but that hasn't worked out yet). Good concession stand. Plenty of nearby parking in the church parking lot. Croz -- I see we have a home-and-home in basketball as well. How are your bball teams this year? I noticed yall played with FCS boys last year. Friday the 13th! Could see some crazy things tonight around the state. Good luck Tigers!
  6. MTCS has been the underdog in every single game all season, even when they shut out their opponent. So..... A team that goes 4-6 more than likely will always be the underdog. They have only shut out two opponents, and only won 4 out 10 games. So...... what are you trying to say? That when they are the underdog they win 40% of their games?
  7. Good luck to the Tigers Friday night. I don't know much about MTCS except what everyone else is saying. I'll say Tigers by 17 or 21.
  8. SC got back on track last week. Should be a good one this week. I think it will probably be a low scoring contest, 21-18, or 17-14 in SC's favor. Good luck to the Owls! Might have to walk over for this one.
  9. You are right...SC is small but slow. How can SC possibly match up with Harpeth? Harpeth beat Cannon Co. 29-20...and SC lost to CC 32-10. By the CPA4ever matchup formula...it should be no contest. Don't let Antwan fool you, he has been playing the small but slow card for quite sometime now. Surely they know better than to believe that.
  10. I dont have a dog in the race, but I have been reading this thread, I say LA has a very good chance to get back to state. boroballer, Maybe you do not know why you are on here, because you don't know anything! Which proves when you post your mindless chatter.
  11. Is something wrong with the indoor practice facility? I saw the owls practicing in the rain yesterday....
  12. Who is Jackson County scrimmaging this preseason?
  13. York needs to pray for rain. I think its the only way they beat SC. Helps York a little that it's a home game. However, rarely does SC lose two in a row. With a bye week after the loss they have had plenty of time to focus on this game. I would think the Owls come away victorious in a squeeker.
  14. We have one player returning who had all district honors, he was 1st team as a sophmore. I wouldn't say we have any outstanding players, but a good group of guys who if they play together, can get the job done. we shall see.. from what isaw last year, yall have a returning point guard and post.. and a few good three point shooters.. the point guard is a more of a driver and fast.. JC is slow i hear maybe ya'll will toy around with them! JC is going to be tough. I don't think we will be toying around with anyone. No game in district or region will be easy.
  15. You have lost your ever loving mind if you think Gordonsville is coming to JC and beating them at all let alone by 15! JC should win this game by 20+ points. G'ville has never beaten JC in basketball and i don't see that happening this year either. JC is absolutely loaded with talent, size, speed and athletic ability. It will be a bad year if this team isn't playing in the state tournament this year and for the next 3 years for that matter. They will be without one of their stars at point guard in Jeret Goad (broken ankle in FCS football game) but he will be back around Thanksgiving. JC wins this one and it could get ugly if they shake off the rust and play to their ability. Talk about not showing anyone anything when has Gordonsville ever done anything in basketball? What will happen if they don't make it? Those are awfule big expectations. 4 state tourneys in a row.
  16. We have one player returning who had all district honors, he was 1st team as a sophmore. I wouldn't say we have any outstanding players, but a good group of guys who if they play together, can get the job done.
  17. 5 Days Till Season? WOW!.. how is GHS this year..any key looks? Got 4 seniors and 4 juniors. 5 of those played last year. 1 senior transfered from Smith County. Got 2 sophs and 5 freshman. Both Sophmores could see see some playing time. Judging from camp, could be a lot of kids that see some playing time.
  18. FCS is the team to beat, no doubt and with the district tournament at their place, that will pose a pretty big advantage for them come tourney time. (not that they need one) I'd like to see this district do well come region tourney time. GHS has JCHS and PCHS right off the bat (Nov. 17th & 19th) so we'll get an early taste of District 7A. Can't wait for basketball season! Best time of the Year! 5 days till first practice!
  19. i agree. TIGERS ROLL!!!! Thats a safe assumption, almost like saying whovere score the most will win. Good luck Tigers! Should be a good one. Pile on the extra layers for tonight.
  20. Antwan, I saw you at the game last night and got ready to come collect my Dew and Popcorn at the end of the 3rd. When I looked up there, you were gone...... You didn't leave early did you??????? jk On a serious note, I hope Joshua is ok, hate to hear that. I was really suprised last night. CC didn't seem like the CC of old. I thought Scurlock did pretty good at RB. I had forgotten about Lucas Wakefield being out at RB as well. I know thats off topic but it shows just how hard SC has been hit at that position this year. To lose two in the same year is tough. SC will bounce back. CC Congrats to you guys and a big win for your program.
  21. Try getting that MIND right so you do not get DISTRACTED. Good luck to the Tigers friday night!
  22. The D-line, I thought, played well, and like somebody said, freed up the LBs to make plays. The twins are playing pretty good. Held their on last night, and if they can continue, that helps the defense too because McKinney and Bray don't have to go both ways. White and Gibbs are playing like they should as Srs.. Vance plays every position on the O-line except C and gives the coaches a lot of options. 7 ...the bad thing about JW...I think he is sobber. Last night, during the ball game, he spent a lot of time, at a critical time in the game, speaking about HIS GOLF GAME.... unbelievable....... I agree T, I have listened to a couple Owl games this year, last night being one. JW is hard to follow. Go from talking about a golf shot he made, to oh what just happened TC? Sounded like though from what I could gather the Owls played a really great ball game though. Congrats to them and the coaches on a good win.
  23. Looks accurate to me. FCS may have what it takes this year to win the region, they should be pretty tough. I don't know much about JC, have hears they can contend for it as well, guess we'll see them Nov. 17th
  24. Midten your alias wouldn't be hayburner would it? Lol
