  1. FalconsFlyHigh, FultonPride, Solomon, TadVols, etc. have been shooting their mouths off about me on here for over a week and a half now. FultonPride & TadVols made all sorts of attempts at humor against CCCHS last week on a thread that got taken off of the boards completely. Were they punished????? Let's just see........... CoachT hasn't suspended any of them 1 TIME!!!! With that in mind some of you want to get on here and cry that I am harsh??????? That's a joke /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> If I get suspended again and none of them do because of a bunch of crying then I am going to Lawrenceburg to settle this matter with CoachT in a personal manner FACE-TO-FACE. That's not intended to be a threat, a knock, a joke, or a myth. IT IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!!!
  2. EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION ON THIS & EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE THEIR OPINIONS RESPECTED SO ANY BASHING OF ANY KIND SHOULD RESULT IN COACHT SUSPENSION!!!!! Is that a fair request for anyone & everyone??????????????????? My vote goes for Region 5-3A /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> REGION 5-3A SINCE THE NEW REGIONS WERE FORMED PRIOR TO THE 2005 SEASON David Lipscomb has been the best overall team in Class 3A since these regions were put in place prior to the 2005 season. The Mustangs have gone 13-2, 13-2, & 14-1 and have a state title to boot. It is the best overall record in 3A during that run and it's also the only team to go to the Boro all three years. Looking around the remainder of the region you'll see that 5 OTHER TEAMS have gone to the playoffs and won playoff games in that same span of time. In 2005 Creek Wood beat Jackson South Side & Cheatham Co. beat Liberty Tech. In 2006 Giles Co. beat Bolivar Central & Jackson South Side and Spring Hill beat Lexington. In 2007 Marshall Co. beat Jackson South Side. Cheatham Co. in 2005, Spring Hill & Giles Co. in 2006, & Marshall Co. in 2007 lost in the playoffs to David Lipscomb. THAT'S JUST A CASE OF A REGION 5 TEAM BEATING OTHER REGION 5 TEAMS THAT WHIPPED UP ON REGION 6 TEAMS!!!! David Lipscomb has been in the postseason for all three years. Cheatham Co. has been in the postseason for all three years. Giles Co. has been in the postseason for two of the three years. Marshall Co. has been in the postseason for two of the three years. Spring Hill has been in the postseason. Creek Wood has been in the postseason. THE LAST THREE YEARS IS ALL THAT MATTERS BECAUSE THE REGIONS LOOKED TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRIOR TO 2005. When you look at Region 2-3A you have Fulton who has won 3 state titles. Since the new regions were formed though the Falcons have only won a total of 1 STATE TITLE. The state titles in 2003 & 2004 are irrelevant to this discussion because Region 5 was completely different back in that day. The same goes for Austin East and their state title in 2001. SO.............................................. If we are counting prior state titles before the year 2005 then you'll see that David Lipscomb has titles in 1994 & 2002, Spring Hill has a state title in 1986, & Marshall Co. has a state title in 1984. REGION 2-3A SINCE THE NEW REGIONS WERE FORMED PRIOR TO THE 2005 SEASON Fulton has been to the second round of the playoffs, won a state title, and lost a state title. Austin East has been to the second round of the playoffs twice and to the quarterfinals once. Knoxville Catholic has been to the second round of the playoffs and to the quarterfinals twice. Livingston Academy has a state title and after that they are 2-18 over the last two seasons. Kingston has been to the playoffs but they don't have a win. Anderson Co. has been to the playoffs once and they have one trip to the second round. RESULTS Anderson Co. has 1 PLAYOFF WIN IN 3 YEARS OFF OF 1 TRIP TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!! That makes them no different that Creek Wood or Spring Hill. Kingston has been to the playoffs once and they HAVE 0 PLAYOFF WINS in that span of time. That makes Kingston worse that Creek Wood & Spring Hill in terms of playoff success. Region 5 holds a 2-1 advantage right there on teams that have 1 PLAYOFF WIN OFF OF MAKING THE PLAYOFFS 1 TIME OUT OF 3 YEARS if my count is correct. Creek Wood & Spring Hill represent Region 5 while Anderson Co. represents Region 2. Kingston is eliminated. Austin East has been to the playoffs all three years as has Knoxville Catholic. AE has three playoff wins in that span of time while Catholic has five playoff wins in that period of time. Marshall Co. & Giles Co. have each been to the playoffs twice in that span of time. Giles has two playoff wins and Marshall has one playoff win. I'll give the edge to Region 2 on both counts there making this a 2-0 sweep. SO......................................the current score going into these final two judgements is 3-2 in favor of 2-3A over 5-3A. Now it's on to Livingston Academy. They went to the playoffs as a #4 seed in 2005 and won it all. Over the course of the last two years however they are 2-18. THAT IS PATHETIC!!!! Cheatham Co. has been to the playoffs all three years (and six straight years total). The Cubs are a model of consistency while Livingston Academy is your classic case of a "1 HIT WONDER". I'll take consistent success over a "one time fluke" any day of the week. Cheatham Co. hold the edge here folks. NOW................................the score sits at 3-3 and we are tied between 5-3A & 2-3A /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> The final match is David Lipscomb vs Fulton. Both schools have three state titles. Both schools have beaten one another in two meetings for the state title. HOWEVER............both schools have not been to the Boro all three years running. Both schools also aren't "currently" the state champions. I have got to give the nod to the team that has been to the BIG DANCE all three years running and that is the same team that is currently the state champions. David Lipscomb gets the nod over Fulton because they are more successful CURRENTLY!!!! That makes it 4-3 in favor of Region 5-3A > Region 2-3A and I challenge anyone to come up with a legitimate argument and supporting facts to beat that. ..................................AND BY THE WAY THERE'D BETTER NOT BE ANY INSULTS OF ANY KIND FROM ANYONE ON EITHER SIDE OR ALL HECK IS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE ON HERE OTHERWISE. Also we can't compare Scott, Page, Stone Memorial, or Montgomery Central in this argument. If we do then I'd rate it at 1-1 anyway. Page is better than either Stone Memorial or Scott. NO CONTEST THERE!!!!!
  3. MVP: Deaunte Mason (Pearl Cohn) Offense: Matthew Johnson (Station Camp) Defense: Howard Griffin (Pearl Cohn) QB: ?????????????????????????????? (I believe Justin Grogan from Greenbrier) RB: DeMarqus Payne (White House) WR: Wayne Cox (Pearl Cohn) OL: Rogers Gaines (White House) DL: Jacob Barker (Station Camp) LB: Ryan Dickerson (Greenbrier) DB: L'Darius Moore (Station Camp) PK: Zack Trobaugh (White House) P: ???????????????????????????????? (I believe Trevor Francis from Sycamore) ATH: Michael Seay (Greenbrier) If any of those are wrong then someone please let me know /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Just like you ride the coat tails of Livingston Academy. They are 2-18 over the last two years. Here's a smiley for you there "Fulton Ferry" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  5. Jerry Henry from Cheatham Co. will be playing for the West team as well. He was added to the roster yesterday and I look forward to him showcasing some of his abilities in the trenches against some of the best players in the state this weekend.
  6. 1.) Sycamore (3-1) 2.) Harpeth (2-1) 3.) Creek Wood (2-1) 4.) Fairview (3-2) 5.) Stewart Co. (2-2) 6.) Waverly Central (1-2) 7.) Cheatham Co. (1-3) 8.) Montgomery Central (0-2) Last night I was totally shocked in the district. Creek Wood dominated Sycamore by outscoring them in each quarter and cruising to a victory. That game really makes things interesting now in the district from spots 1-3. That's what everyone was predicting back in late October-early November anyway right????? Creek Wood beat Sycamore, Harpeth beat Creek Wood, Sycamore beat Harpeth. Fairview went to Cheatham Co. last night and destroyed the Cubs by 20. The Cubs played flat and with not much enthusiasm about the game at all. I really felt for Coach Stigall & Co. because the kids just didn't seem all that into the flow of things from the opening tip. Hats off to Fairview. The Jackets bounced back from a loss on Monday and got a key district win on Tuesday to keep the momentum going. Johnson & Bledsoe really shot the basketball well last night for Fairview.
  7. A great talent with tremendous size and speed. As a linebacker he played the run very well up tight in the box. He lacked the ability that will be needed from an LB to cover backs down the field in the SEC. That's why I expect him to move up and play defensive end in college. He has the size and speed and could add the strength to really be a dominant pass rusher (ie Alex Brown from Florida who's now playing for the Chicago Bears). Don'ta will not play offense in college. He likes receiver but he doesn't have the "burst" to play that position in the SEC. He can't play fullback or tight end because he's not a great blocker at all. He has the hands but he's just not going to block anyone. Don'ta Hightower will be a great defensive end at Alabama for the next four years and with enough work he does have the potential to maybe one day play football for a living. He's got that much ability and size definately!!!
  8. Now that 2007 is over and complete I want to thank everyone who took part in our first year of "Friday Night Scoreboard" from each team in the region. It was really fun and very beneficial swapping scores from games each week throughout the season and I liked the fact that we all knew what was going on throughout the road to the playoffs. Congrats to the David Lipscomb Mustangs on representing our region in the classy manner in which you always seem to do both on and off of the field. Winning the third state championship in the history of your very great football program is an amazing feat. ALL IN ALL I BELIEVE 2007 WAS A MAJOR SUCCESS IN THE REGION & 2008 IS LOOKING GOOD WHEN PREVIEWING IT TODAY............................ David Lipscomb: the state champion Mustangs return quite a bit from this year's team. Caleb Simpson will really be in his third year as a starting QB for the offense and that kind of stability at the quarterback position is vital to a team's success. The likely hands down candidate for Region MVP next season will be Zach Rogers. Rogers is the Mustangs leading receiver from the last two years and I expect him to continue to be a dual threat on offense next year both as a pass catcher as well as a runner. Kyle Lehning should continue to see action as a receiver on offense where he really played well this past year. The line play will be solid with returning starters Andrew Quinn & Dallon Hudson anchoring the team in the trenches. On defense the Mustangs return linebackers Michael Saggio, Ben Brewer, & Evan Webb to the field in '08. The defense also returns Harrison Daniel & Dallon Hudson on the line to play in front of those guys. In the secondary defensive backs Kyle Lehning & Zach Rogers both return. All in all I would say that this team has an excellent shot at repeating next fall if they play to their potential. KEY LOSSES: Jeremy Holt, Kevin Davis, Russ Moneypenny, Travis Harper, Zach Lehmer, Brandon Cannon, Cameron Hunt, Daniel Dorris, & Mitchell Tempenny Giles Co.: the Bobcats were very young heading into this past year but they enjoyed a lot of success throughout the year going 8-2 and earning a first round home playoff game. In '08 this team appears to be loaded once again. Bo Wallace returns as the team's quarterback where he posted some incredible stats this past year. His favorite target also returns next year at receiver in Rico Brown. The Bobcats backfield will be very talented again with both Tobias & Cory Houston returning to the lineup. Enrique Villalata returns to handle the placekicking chores after having a fine season in '07. The defense will be strong up front yet again. Dimayo Birdsong is a monster of a man in the trenches. Both Darius Turner & Russ Cobb return as linebackers which will again be a team strength. KEY LOSSES: Marquise Gardner, Shavarous Coleman, Josh Perez, Aundra McElroy, Torrell Harney, Quon Reynolds, Kendall Dangerfield, & Brett Gleason Cheatham Co.: the Cubs overcame significant odds this past year as they made the playoffs for the sixth year in a row following a start of 0-6. A bunch of lettermen return to the field next year to try and make that number a seven. On offense Garrett Potts returns as the signal caller. Potts returns a very good receiving core next year in the form of Justin Batts, Tyler Anderson, Tyler Adkisson, & Zack Wilson. Joe Rhinehart returns as the team's running back where he is a threat to both run it and catch it. Up front on offense the Cubs return Jesse Boyd, Tanner Owen, Cody Anderson, Devin Bryant, & Brian Mayo as starters. This offense should be strong. The defense returns a lot as well. The line returns tackles Jacob Dodson, Ryan Phillips, Zack Bush, & Cory Chambliss who all played well down the stretch. The linebacking core will be a strength as the Cubs return starters Shawn Montgomery, Kendall Chambliss, Cody Anderson, & Brady White. In the secondary the Cubs return starting corner Garrett Potts as well as starting free safety Justin Batts. KEY LOSSES: Brandon Theriault, Jerry Henry, & Kyle Smith Marshall Co.: the Tigers first year under their new coaching staff was a success as they not only went to the playoffs but they also won a playoff game and then played competitively in the second meeting with DL. The Tigers offense returns quarterback Jake Morris. Morris will be in what basically amounts to his third season as the team's starting quarterback. Joining Morris in the Tigers offensive backfield will be Justin Braden. Braden will be the best pure running back returning in the entire region next season. He has gone over 1,000 yards each of the last two years. David Tadajewski returns as one of the team's top receiving threats and Morris will look to him quite a bit. On defense Michael Murphy will anchor the group. Murphy is a beast up front and should be a prime choice for defensive player of the year honors heading into 2008. Joining Murphy on the defensive side of the ball will be Tyler Clift and Cameron Evans. Justin Braden will likely take on a larger role in the defensive backfield. KEY LOSSES: Jaron Jones, Don'ta Hightower, Cavalla O'Neal-Sommers, Trevor Walker, Joe Gentry, DeShaun Greer, Race Wilson, Steven Evans, & Dakota Binkley Page: the Patriots started the season slow under their first year staff but made a strong late season push to the playoffs before falling just shy in the final moments of the season finale. In 2008 the staff will have experience with the players and the players will be very experienced. Taylor Lankford will return as the team's primary ball carrier on offense. He has been a starting back for the last two years. Blake Neel returns to lead the offense from his quarterback position. Neel was nearly unstoppable at the end of the season as he threw for tons of yardage in the final half of the season. Neel has several of his targets back next year to distribute the ball to. Matt Camargo, Houston Bagsby, & Cole Meenach are members of this group. Jordan Rion returns as one of the top kickers in the region and he should have a significant role in Page's scoring next fall. On defense linebackers Cody Faulkner & Taylor Lankford lead a group that should be much improved. KEY LOSSES: Blake Byerly, Mark Tucker, Will Camargo, Matt Blankenship, Jordan Dowd, Chad Parker, Weston Brann, & Vinny Peilla Creek Wood: the Red Hawks finished the season in 2007 as one of the better teams in all of Class 3A not to qualify for the playoffs. That's a bitter taste that they will look to eliminate next fall. Returning to the lineup for Creek Wood in '08 will be a strong rushing attack on the offensive side of the football. TE Stokes & Caleb Bell make up this group that will look to pound the football at will. The Red Hawks return a strong group on both sides of the football in the trenches and this should help them to both run it as well as be tough against the run. This group consists of Tyler Murphy, Trent Armstrong, Shawn Henry, Chris Hunter, Brian White, Jacob Pate, & Chris Hartman. Look for Stokes & Bell to both be two-way players not only in the offensive backfield but also as linebackers on defense. KEY LOSSES: TJ Dollard, Chris Elliott, Sam Shelton, Cody Tucker, JoJo Hill, Jordan Dawson, Woodrow Taylor, Dylan Hunter, Caleb Davis, Brett Wilson, & Justin Wilson Spring Hill: the Raiders are in the process of searching for a new coaching staff that will inherit some talented players once they arrive before next fall. Broc Loveless gets his shot at quarterback where he saw time as a starter this past year. Joining him in the backfield will be running back Travis Carter who has playmaking abilities. Stephan Oskian will be relied on as the team's top returning receiver. A lot of experience returns on a line that has a way to go to get to the level in which they need to play at. On defense linebackers Thad Furtaw & Allan Beasley both return to anchor a group that must improve against the run. The secondary will be young due to graduation losses. KEY LOSSES: Magwan Smith, Greg Owens, Allan Fentress, Louis Sanders, Oliver Goodman, Tommy Baxter, Bola Thompson, & Roshaun Patel Montgomery Central: Hunter Brewer started the year as a running back but became the team's quarterback late in the year. Where he plays will be a huge question going into next season. Justin Saulsberry is the best back on the team and likely their best overall player. He's a real gem. If Brewer does play QB then he'll have some good weapons to get the football to in Quinton Snyder & Monte Lafferty. Ronnie Britcher & Chuck Farmer anchor the team up front. Bryan Smith, Steven Sheaves, and Justin Long all return in the trenches as well next fall for the Indians. Saulsburry, Adam Fisher, and James Pokorny all return as linebackers on a defense that wasn't terrible against the run and shouldn't be next year either with this unit being their best group. In the secondary Justin Schultz, Bobby Hawk, and Kenya Miracle all return. KEY LOSSES: Blake Clayton, Michael Cilk, William Lyle, Dempsey Van Wormer, Josh Baker, Cezar Thompson, & Matt Castner Merry Christmas Everyone & Happy New Year to All!!!!!! I look forward to talking a lot about these teams and these players when we get things started again in the fall of 2008 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. 2001-2002 is the last time that this district was really a competitive battle night in and night out. Beginning with the 2002-2003 season it seemed like Giles Co. just took off and left everyone else for dead. Coach Holt & Co. are due for "1 Down Year" sometime right??????? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  10. Okay does that make next Friday a doubleheader then since Harpeth is scheduled to play Goodpasture again that night????? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Just thought that I would ask!!!! I know Harpeth's "Pre-Christmas" schedule has been brutal. Next week they have games against Goodpasture, Dickson Co., & CPA. NOW THAT DESERVES A WHOA!!!!
  11. Same to you guys. Tell Rudesil that it he wants to go AAA and join Liberty Tech then I'LL BE THE FIRST TO PACK EVERY BAG ON BOLIVAR'S BASKETBALL TEAM /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It's never too late you know!
  12. Alcoa will be great again next year. I hope that many will have the opportunity to see them in person next year in the midstate when they travel to White House. Tell Rankin to only hold up three fingers instead of five after winning the state title next year. Those first two titles belong to John Reid instead of Rankin. He should have only been celebrated as part of two state titles instead of four state titles this past weekend. I don't recall seeing Gary Rankin on the sideline in 2004 when Alcoa rallied from a 41-26 second half deficit to beat Huntingdon in a game that I will always remember as being "GREAT" /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. You are right truhoopsfan. Sycamore will likely see Union City in the second round of the "David Lipscomb Holiday Tourney" in a couple of weeks. I expect the War Eagles to beat Riverdale and I also expect UC to beat Mt. Juliet. Is Union City a quality team this year out in West-TN?????? I know they always field a very athletic squad /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. That's my opinion. The vote has already happened and I know it is a fact hat Jerry Henry won OL MVP. Congrats to the beast formerly known as #78 (2004-2005), #90 (2006), & #77 (2007).
