Any takers on the Chiefs? I know Mcminn Central handled the Chiefs pretty good in the Jamboree 13-0 and I believe Sweetwater beat McMinn County's JV squad 7-3. Lets Hope for a good game. 19. The Yellow Jackets of Springfield travel to Gallatin to play the Bison of Station Camp. The Jackets play their last “up a class” game. The Jackets have had the upper hand lately against Station Camp. What is everyone’s thoughts?
  20. The 95th Coffee Pot game is moved to Thursday at 7pm at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma. No on-site tickets will be sold. You must get tickets in advance through the two schools. Normally this game has 5-6,000 people, so tickets are at a premium. Both teams are coming off wins. Tullahoma routed Shelbyville 38-13 and Coffee Co. came from behind to beat Franklin County 21-19. Tullahoma entered the AP Class 4A rankings at No. 8, and holds down the top spot in the S & K Southern Tennessee High School Football Poll. Coffee Co. entered the S & K poll at No. 4. I'm picking Tullahoma, as you might expect, but this game is usually competitive and sometimes surprising. Watch the Coffee Pot live in Tullahoma on LightTube channel 23. Listen live around the world on the LightTube YouTube channel, on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, or the 939theduck app.
  21. Tullahoma (1-0) will host Coffee County (1-0) Friday night in the 95th edition of the Coffee Pot. The matchup has been featured in the U.S. Army Great American Rivalry series during recent years, and has been continuous since 1924 except for the war years of 1943 & 1944. The Wildcats have won three straight over the Red Raiders, including a 35-0 shutout in 2019. Tullahoma has won 61 of the 94 matchups between these intra-county rivals, and THS Head Coach John Olive is 22-5 against his school's biggest rival. Tullahoma is coming off a 38-13 domination of Shelbyville. The Wildcats showed no weaknesses after giving up one touchdown drive and a 79-yard TD in the first quarter. Tullahoma's offense scored on big plays, including three of 50 or more yards in the first half, and sustained five-minute clock-eating drives that resulted in points. The defense held the Golden Eagles to 60 yards in the second half. Junior PK/P Justus Chadwick has emerged as a premier high school kicker, booming all of his kickoffs in the end zone, nailing all PAT opportunities, hitting a 31-yard field goal, and booming a 47-yard punt. Tullahoma had two line-of-scrimmage penalties, no substitution issues, no personal fouls, and no turnovers. The Wildcats have good size, experience and speed, led by WR/RB/KR/PR/DB/QB Jakobe Thomas and junior QB Ryan Scott, who each accounted for three touchdowns against the Golden Eagles. The line #TankLife allowed no sacks and very few negative plays, and defensively they slowed Shelbyville's running game. Coffee County ground out a 21-19 win over Franklin County and the Red Raiders have playoff aspirations under second-year head coach Doug Greene. With the brutal Region 3-6A schedule awaiting them, a Manchester win over Tullahoma would inject another boost of confidence into the Raiders. Listen to Friday's Coffee Pot game on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, the 939 The Duck app, or on the TUA LightTube YouTube channel. Tullahoma subscribers to LightTube can watch the game live on Channel 23.
