It is obvious that you guys only read what I post about Oak Ridge and not the other posts.  I do not resort to name calling unlike others.  No reason to do that IMO.  Do not want the post shut down because someone post an opinion, but because some people tend to get personal and resort to unwarranted name calling.  Guess some things will never change.  Oh well, as Ronnie would have said on to the next topic.  I am through here and you guys can beat someone else up.  No sense in discussing a topic with someone that does not repsect anothers opinion.

I think you have to go with someone who has OR ties. Whether that be Stevens, Gray, Gaddis, Laurendine...I am not sure.

Whoever gets the Oak RIdge job will have a load of talent their first year and there will be HUGE expectations for 2005. But I am sure the TRUE Wildcat fans will accept whomever is selected.

I am ready to know who the coach is and get on with Spring Practice. Only 134 days and 12 hours till the first game. It will be here before you know it.

I really feel it does not matter who we get because this Senior class is a special group of kids with a lot of talent and heart. They will BRING IT every Friday night in '05 and Oak RIdge will win its 9th football State Championship.

ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!!!!!

Brother Of "BIG TY"

Totally agree with you and I think I can speak for a few hundred TRUE Wildcat faithful:

We will back anyone chosen!!

Except Gray.

Well Finalsay, Brother of Big Ty said that like most he would back everyone including Gray. So I am going to have to disagree. I will have to back anyone that comes, but Gray is my pick beacuse he is a great coach. There is nothing about him that would make him a bad canidate for the job and in my opinion the right man for the job.

What do you have with Gray that is so wrong?

Are the rumors true? Will Oak Ridge announce this week? Possibly tomorrow or is just that , rumors. This search is like a soap opera, but oh so fun to watch. Who knows those scientists out there might be able to bring back General Neyland? I'd come watch!

YEA!! Oak Ridge football and basketball will never miss your opinions. Papatj, you will find this hard to believe but Oak Ridge sports will win AND lose without you badmouthing the players. Your ego is finally in check. But, hey, we still love ya.

Back to selecting the best coach. Whoever that is, I will support all the way!

UNITED AS ONE! OAK RIDGE NOW! OAK RIDGER FOREVER!

I apologize if I got caught up in the process and stated anything out of line while posting here. I know that every Oak Ridger who's taken the time to post here truly cares about the program.......I do as well. I just HATE negativity - especially since it always has a way of getting back to the kids.

I do not like the personal attacks and venom that have been aimed toward Coach Gray over the years - they are not deserved. I have the utmost respect for Stanton Stevens as well as Ron Gray - I hope the new head coach is one of these fine gentlemen/educators. I have just as much respect for Mr. Chuck Carringer. Regardless of the choice, my fellow Wildcat fans can be assured that Coach Carringer has kept the best interest of our school and football program as his highest priority.

Go 'Cats!!!

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
