Kobe overrated?

Recommended Posts

So the Lakers are officially out of the playoff race. i have an opinion some may agree or disagree with. Kobe Bryant is way overrated. The Lakers would of been better trading away Kobe then trading away Shaq. Kobe has great ability but the one thing he doesn't have is making everyone around him better. That is what makes Shaq great, and what made Micheal great. Kobe now has been exposed and if you take Kobe off the Lakers and put Shaq on, this team is in the playoffs. Anyone else have any opinions?

i dont really think he is overrated. everyone thinks that because the Lakers stink this year but Kobe is doin his thing(when he isnt hurt) its just that he doesnt have anyone around him to help the team win. Odom is decent and then the rest of the team is bench material. however, they definitely would have been a much better team with Shaq than they are with Kobe. Shaq is the most dominate force ive ever seen. nobody changes a game like Shaq, not even MJ...not sayin Shaq is better than Jordan but his size and stength just completely changes the game. first he made Penny a star, then Kobe, now Wade. Kobe just doesnt have the ability to make the other guys around him great (just like TMac with the Magic last year)....he's still a top notch gaurd though.

Kobe's not overrated...he's just not as good as he thinks he is.

He's a great player, but there's a lot of great guards. There's about seven or eight Kobe-caliber guards.

There's only MAYBE three legitimately great big men in the NBA right now -- Duncan, Shaq, and Yao. KG if you see him as a big man, but he's more of a 4 than a 5. Duncan plays the 4 spot a lot, but he plays it like a 5.

i agree. Yao is a good big man but he doesnt have that game changing presence to make him "great"....he's no better than Ilgauskas is for the Cavs. the man is 7'6 310 lbs. and he only pulls down 8 rebounds a game. he needs to be more agressive and put that size to use if he's over gonna be great. the other guys opperman named arent true centers. Duncan, KG, Jermaine O'neal....they are all great but they are really power formards that play the 5 sometimes.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
