WestRun.com
I just wanted to let everyone know that the Preps List is up. These are the rankings for the top track & field marks around Tennessee so far this year. You can go to WESTRUN.COM and then there is a link to the Preps List in the left hand column. If you have a result that meets the cutoff and I don't have it, email it to me at CoachChris@westrun.com.
AEtheridge
Excellent work, Chris. I imagine the 3200 m runner from MBA is Brock Baker.
nununu
Is it that Region III is not sending in their results. There are some times that I have seen that are better than what is being shown. Region III coaches need to step it up and send in results. In the 100, I have personally seen LaMarcus Coker, Preston Brown, and Gaston Miller run faster 100's than the top 10.8 that is shown here. WestRun.com
Actually, the region 3 or Nashville coaches if that is who you mean did not even know I was doing this. Most of the results: 1. Knoxville, I get the newspaper so I just scan them in. 2. Chattanooga, They have their newspaper on the internet, even the track results. 3. Nashville, I only can get what I read on internet track stories or what good websites like Kenwood or MBA have. 4. Memphis, Last year their newspaper had all the track results from the actual newspaper, but this year they don't have enough help to do the data entry. Whatever all you athletes, coaches, parents and fans can send me as far as results go, I appreciate. Remember, I need name, grade, school, date of meet and the time and whether it was an FAT or handtime. Thanks
p9morbid
so you're saying that it's not really a very comprehensive database, but rather a conglomerate of newspaper articles from the major metro areas?
Rahobk
Josh Jones Station Camp High School Triple Jump 42'6 1/2'' 4/12/05 @ Gallatin High School Brandon Byram Station Camp High School Long Jump 21'8'' 4/8/05 @ McGavock High School
p9morbid
i've never heard of Station Camp High, where is that located and is it a new high school? I assume it's around the Nashville area considering those two track meet locations.
kenwoodrun
Morbid, The way Chris is doing it is as comprehensive as it is going to get around here. Nashville metro coaches are absolutely HORRIFIC about results, and the Tennessean is just about as bad. If it isn't MBA, BA, Harpeth Hall, Brentwood, etc... you aren't going to hear about it in the Nashville media. And that's a shame with some of the good athletes McGavock, Hillwood, Antioch and others like that have. Station Camp is a A/AA school in Sumner County, in the Hendersonville/Gallatin area. Nice coach over there, good kids. They already had a state champion in A/AA cross country last year, when Ryne Sexton won the individual crown for Station Camp. At least he's doing it. Nobody else will even give it a try.
