Don't forget to get your international drivers license.  B)  Be careful, autobahn driving is a little like NASCAR.  :P

I used to live in Germany, though the autobahn is fast, I find it safer than our roads as they all follow strict lane control. You never pass on the right, and you move over to the right if you are not passing.

If you're doing 100mph passing someone, see flashing headlights in your rearview mirror two miles back, move over to the right. Someone doing 150mph is about to pass you. That takes a little get'n used to. :thumb:

  • 3 weeks later...

Well, she's off. We left her at the Nashville Airport this morning and she is landing in Charlotte about now. Will take off in three hours for Frankfurt and will be living in Karlsruhe, on the Rhine River on the French border. One of the stages of the Tour de France finished in Karlsruhe. She may work or she may start taking classes as she is thinking about going to medical school. Wedding is still November 26th in Tuttlingen.

Now we just hope life is what she expects it to be because her expectations are way up there.

She (as in me) has started her German classes now... and is progressing well. She can at least now ask for help when she gets lost. First class finishes the week before the wedding... second one starts the week of the wedding. And then the test to be able to work will be taken the 21st of January. We'll see if she is able to work in her field or will be a non-speaking cashier somewhere for awhile.

She is going to the Stuttgart version of the Oktoberfest this weekend; however, she can't remember the name of it. Should be fun. Taking the puppy with her.

And she fully expects all of her expectations to be fulfilled... how else could it work out with such a wonderful father supporting her. (Not to mention the wonderful mother and amazing fiance. ) :thumb:

Picture provided of 22nd birthday... spent in Germany with puppy and fiance.

You are a "sweetheart"...and Hoban says to remind that adorable pup (IF it's a girl)...that he's a GERMAN Shepherd....and could help translate for her!!!

Thanks for fixing the picture...

QB, you crack me up! Now, if you keep that up, good ol' Hoban will be wanting to take one of Coach T's tickets to Germany. Don't go getting his hopes up now! :thumb:

Tell Hoban that the puppy, known both as Puppy and Flip, is a he. Though the offer of a German speaking friend is well appreciated by him and he is happy to know that he has a friend thinking of him. :justwrestle:

    • Agree with most of this and add that it takes a "type A" personality to be successful as the top guy. Lots of folks are knowledgeable of the game, have the skills to co-ordinate scheduling, officials, duties, rosters, etc... What they lack is natural charisma and the innate ability to convince young men that they care for them, and what they're teaching them will make them successful if they contribute their effort. Football can be learned...leaders are born.
    • Understandable. I honestly couldn’t remember. When you lose your starting QB especially in high school it’s a big blow
    • Gotta keep it real here.  Nobody is twisting their arm making them coach football.  There are more high school football coaches around here than ever.  Schools that have the same enrollment today as they had 50 years ago have 5-6 coaches instead of two.  Every head coaching vacancy will get a flood of applications.  Well over 20 at West Carroll from what I read earlier in this thread.  There's more men getting into coaching each year than are getting out.  The fact is that there are far too many high school football coaches out there.  Like I said, just keeping it real.
    • Off the top of my head WV finished 3rd and RC finished 4th. I think both lost close games in the first round. Overall they were pretty evenly matched last year.
    • I’m gonna be tapped in for that Marion Co. game 🪶 🔥
