Now Chicken Jones won't even play the Warriors. He's even got them middle school players scared to play. They completely dropped out of the SVC so they won't have to play us. Are you fellers gonna quit playing the little leaguers next? Need to change your colors and mascot to Oregon's. Be the Ducks because y'all keep ducking us.

Yep Recon So.

2017, 2018 and 2019 Whiwhul Tigers said y'all already have The McDucks mascot reserved following the Red Tygger Scare.

Coffee Co. vs Tullahoma. Great game always for the Coffee Pot. It bleeds over into parking lots even fights the night after. This year let the players play and leave it on the gridiron. The game is at Manchester this year should be 8-10,000 at the game just like 2 years ago. People were still coming in 1 hour after it started.

Overall record 62 wins for Tullahoma and 29 wins for Coffee County?  Is that correct?

This is the link to all the games between McMinn County and Bradley Central. First Game was in 1916. They have played every year since 1927. There are 3 years in which the teams played each other twice in one season. Including this years victory the Bears have won 55 times with McMinn winning 41. They have tied 3 times.

So, my question is, did this debate ever get settled?   What is the oldest ongoing rivalry in the State?

When I researched this sort of thing several years ago the "oldest" rivalry I found was MUS and Christian Bros which first played in 1894. They've now played a total of 60 times over the years; the series is uninterrupted since 1989.

The longest continuous/uninterrupted rivalry I know of is Harriman and Rockwood. They haven't missed a year since 1923 -- the only year missed since the two schools began playing in 1921 (when they played each other twice). Harriman and Rockwood are scheduled to square off for the 102nd time on 9/24/21 which, to my knowledge, is the most games in any series in TN history. Milan and Peabody have already played this season, their 101st meeting; they had an interruption in '99 & '00 which broke a continuous string dating back to 1930. Theirs might be the most competitive of TN rivalries with, say, 80 or more matchups, as Milan leads 51-48-2.

Interestingly, if you consider the most often played rival for a TN school, it involves an out-of-state opponent. TN High and VA High first played in 1911 and have met 110 times. They missed last year with VA not participating in fall sports due to COVID and, strangely, won't be playing each other this season or next. Prior to 2020, TN and VA last missed a fall date with one another in 1943.
