Dick Vitale was asked to pick winners and losers in the draft. Here is one of his losers:

"SEC. None of these players were drafted after leaving school early: Kelenna Azubuike, Anthony Roberson, Matt Walsh, Kennedy Winston, Randolph Morris, Olu Famutimi. What were these guys thinking going into the draft and giving up on another year of college basketball, gaining valuable experience in a positive environment. Brandon Bass didn't go in the first round either. "

Once again, some basketball player was deluded by their "advisors" as to their having lottery, or first round, talent. The lust for the bling-bling and the bucks have left these kids with not a ton of options as good as returning for the remainder of their college career and getting better. Oh, I get it-they'll re-enroll in college, pay their own way, take 18 hours a semester, then go to their respective masters programs. Better at least take a foreign language course now.

I wish the CBA had made the age minimum 24

At least 3 years out of high school.

That's the problem with basketball more than any other sport. In basketball, one kid can pretty much make a high school, or sometimes college, team. All they are ever told is they are the greatest ever, and when it comes time to compare them to the best of the best, they see they aren't as good as they thought, but they refuse to admit it because it hurts their ego. It's really sad.

My personal favorite story from the draft was Randolph Morris. I don't even want to know what his "advisors" were feeding him.

This is what got Morris in trouble-Envy and Ego.

Two of his old AAU running buddies, Howard and Smith, came out last year and had a good NBA (for rookies) season. Morris decided to go to KY, where he stunk up the joint, convinced he got shafted by NOT going pro.

Nothing was going to stop him from the big time after his "one-year" sentence at UK, where he played like he had a ball and chain around his ankles.

What he failed to realize is that you're only as good as your last performance, and the grade sheet on him while he was at UK showed inconsistent attitude, poor fundamentals, erratic effort, and a non-existant work ethic. You can get by with that at the high school or AAU level-you can't in the Pro's.

So he declares, never even contacts Tubby (he faxed in his intentions), nor asks his help-he was going PRO and was going LOTTERY. The ONLY people he listened to where his AAU buddies and his "support" group.

Reality check hit him like a Karl Malone pick at the high post.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
