I played for the Mighty Mustangs of Loretto High School 88-91 seasons. We were 9-2 my Junior year and 11-1 my Senior year. We lost to that small college in Nashville, Brentwood Acd. in the playoffs. I played every position on the O-L except center and D-L Then I signed with the University of North Alabama, redshirted in 92. I was 6' 198 my first day there. By that spring I was 6'2" 250. By the fall I was 6'2"1/2 and 265 starting noseguard on a 14-0 NCAA D2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team. 8 of our 22 starters went on to play for money after college. 4 made it to the NFL! I hated school and quit after that season. STUPID! They went on to win two more in a row! I sat out 94 and worked in a box factory. I hated that worse than school and missed ball. If I had gone back to UNA I would of lost a year, so I went to Cumberland U and played 95-97. I had a cup of coffee with the Nashville Kats in 98 was injured and sat out 99. In 00 I played for the Tenn. Valley Vipers in the AF2. In 01 I played for the Toronto Phantoms of the AFL. In 02 I played for Tenn. Valley again. I hurt my knee and I can't pass a physical anymore to play in the AFL or Af2. I have played in the Middle Tenn. Football league ever since. It's a full contact adult football league in the Metro area. The only time you can hit a guy bellow the waste is if he has the ball so my knee is safe from those dirty O-L guys cut blocks.!!!! If any of you guys would be interested in Playing hit me up at lebanonhitmen@yahoo.com. This spring when I strap it up for the MTFL, it will be my 26th season of playing football. I also coached at UNA for 2 years and at CU for 3. I coached at Lebanon High for 3. FOOTBALL IS MY LIFE!!!!!!! :thumb:

I was #50 and played center and linebacker for the Riverdale Warrior,1972-1975. Our best team while I was there was 1974. We lost to McCavock in the Metro Bowl. I think our record was 8-3. Our qb was Donnie Smith and we had a big guy named Dennis(Big Foot) Harrison who later played for Vanderbilt and the Philadelphia Eagles. I started at center my senior season, also played some at linebacker. I was huge 6'0" 170 lbs. I live in Rutherford Co. still and my son plays for Eagleville, he is a senior and wears #50 and also plays center along with Def. tackle. He is much stronger and better than I ever was.

Everett High , Class of 1977. I played tailback in a veer offense and safety on defense. For those that do not know , Everett was one of the schools that was closed when Heritage High and later William Blount opened. It was the largest school in Blount County and we had a great rivalry with Maryville , although we had no better luck against them than the current B.C. schools. We did usually play them close. I played against the 1976 MHS state championship team and the great Danny Spradlin. My claim to fame was I scored the last touchdown scored by Everett , against a Maryville team and I had the final interception ever by an Everett Bulldog in the final game of the season against Cocke County High. We never had a winning season during my time there but I loved playing high school football , and to this day I miss it. A great experience.

I played at old Jacksboro HS(years before the beginnings of Campbell County HS) in the years 1965-1967...played center...no state playoffs at taht time but we wouldnt have qualified anyway i dont think...but then again, some teams today qualify withonly one or two wins...who knows...guess that makes me "OLD SCHOOL" or at least it makes me OLD!!!

HEY!!!! Don't want to divulge too much info on here but I'm one of "teh UT friends"! From Mt. Pleasant, does that ring any bells?

    • This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
    • Agree? Your the one defending a dude with your life for getting a DUI. That's the worst thing on here.
    • Can’t believe no one posted on this and gave this team the recognition they deserve!  AAU team Tennessee went to Iowa and done what no other team had ever done and took down Iowa and the strength by holds in AAU nationals!!! Yes McCallie had a solid group of 8th graders and they showed up but we had an AAU team that wrestled their butt off and we didn’t just place in the top 5 … we won the whole dang thing! Yes the NHSCa’s were happening and that may have hurt but never once had TN ever won the national folkstyle duals national championship!!  It was a team effort and some amazing young kids!!!    We are not a fly over state any more… on a side note : we have any even better team for cadet National's team duals in Utah and have a chance to sweep both duals which would be unprecedented!!! However the funds aren’t there and USA isn’t in th position to help these kids get to utah as was AAU that got us to Iowa! Stay tuned for some oppertunities to help make a statement for Tn!!!
    • Right cause you know me, you may know my name, what I post on here, what I say on our shows, but you don’t know who I am. And if your class ring doesn’t say Trousdale County high school, quite frankly I don’t care what you say.
    • I agree but I will say I’m not hiding behind a screen name, I’m easy to find and not hard to miss lol
