There was also a Rogersville High and before they split to make East and West there was Morristown High...

Also, Jefferson High, Maury High are some in Jefferson County...might have been a couple others like Rush Strong High and White Pine High...maybe?

In Campbell County there was Wynn-Habersham...

Campbell county also had Lafollette, and Jacksboro high schools, in addition to Wynn of Habersham. A couple of old ones from I believe Scott county were Norma, and Pruden high schools. At one time Knox county had a school called Van Gilder. Is Tellico Plains still a high school?

Tellico Plains is still alive and kicking...

Can't forget Horace Maynard being renamed to Union Co.

Duncan was the Longhorns.

Somebody asked where Haynes was...it was in the Bordeaux/North Nashville area. It closed at the end of the '66-'67 year, and their kids went to Cumberland, which is where I saw my first game in 1967.

There were several Haynes guys who ended up at Stratford - Lawrence Haywood and the Clark brothers.

I grew up at Peay park at about the same time. Jamie Denton was a year behind me in baseball ages. I played kids football with a Donny Stubblefield, and in Florida, met a fingerprint technician named Stubblefield, who had grown up in Goodlettsville.

I played baseball there from '71-'78 (from 9-17).

Well I was around the ballpark in those years too. Actually from 1963 to 1978. I coached after I was too old to play.

Some others in northeast Tennessee were:

Fall Branch Cardinals - combined with Boones Creek Bars (Daniel boone's spelling of Bears) and Sulphur Springs to form Daniel Boone

Blountville Tigers - combined with Holston to form Sullivan Central.

Mary Hughes, Bluff City and Holston Valley combined to form Sullivan East.

Lynn View Lynxes and Ketron Wildcats combined to make Sullivan North.

Church Hill Panthers and Surgoinsville Eagles combined to form Volunteer.

Rogersville Warriors and Bulls Gap combined to form Cherokee

Sullivan (referred to as Sullivan West) Pirates was combined with part of the Sullivan Central district to form Sullivan South.

Jonesboro was combined with, I believe, Lamar and maybe one or two others to form David Crockett.

Erwin Blue Devils now Unicoi County - may have been consolidated with another school.

Not all of the schools mentioned played football. I could not be sure about some of them so I did not attempt to name the ones that did and the ones that did not.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
