The Predators continued their impressive start to the season tonight by defeating the Blues 3-2 in an OT shootout. The Pred move to 6-0 on the season and are looking good. I am actually getting excited about hockey, what is wrong with me?

Good win...... We started strong and it ws unfortunate we didn't get a quick lead. Slowed down in the middle of the game but found a way to win even though it wasn't our best hockey.

If anyone gets the opportunity to witness the move Marak Zidlicky put on the BLOSERS goaltender in the shootout.... Lalime is still picking up the pieces...... :thumb:

6-0......... The Preds....... I'm pinching myself......

On a sad note, it is unfortunate we only get to play THE BLOSERS 6 more times...... B) LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

That will be the real litmus test of how this franchise will perform. St. Louis game had 12K plus in the stands-but the arena holds around 17. Tuesdays and Thursdays have always been tough draws for the Preds. Weekend games draw better. Opening night was packed, second night nearly 16.

The Preds are not only winning, but they are exciting to watch. The skill level that the new rules has allowed to shine is so much higher than in season's past. I remember earlier seasons when you'd go to the GEC and you'd just hope they'd spring an upset with clearly inferior talent. Now, you hope the Preds don't let inferior talent take away their game.

It sure is fun being a hockey fan now! :thumb:

Well, I guess the question about record number of games without a fight is out the window. I understand and appreciate a fight during the flow of the game. Heck, I know I couldn't play this game and not fight, but premeditaded fights like I saw last night don't do anything to promote the game. At least it was Barnaby that was getting thumped! How he thinks that he wins a fight by getting his melon bashed for a minute then wrestling a guy to the ground is a new concept. But now we know we can win a skill game or a muscle game.

By the way, we are having a wonderful start to the year and have a really exciting team that should do well all year. Just be careful and not get ahead of ourselves by asking if they could win the Stanley Cup. It's way too early.

Truthfully, I don't believe we have the talent to win the Stanley Cup...... but a nice run in the playoffs is conceivable......

Went to the game against Edmonton toinght.... We looked bad..... This team isn't capable of just showing up for work and winning, the effort and excution has to be there.

Former NHL coach is illiterate.

I find it fairly humorous he admits it in a book.

As for the Preds......still waiting on my free ticket to reel me in. B)

Solomon, It starts with a free ticket....... then a free lunch.......and it ends with you sounding like a democrat...... Buy the ticket, you'll feel better about yourself...... B)

    • I’m not familiar with Metro. Maybe someone who is will chime in. I’ve seen them shuffled in small systems, so it shouldn’t be a problem at all in Metro, if they do want him in another building.
    • Ah, more Coach Ham bashing. There seems to be a club, so tell us, are you the VP, Chairman?  From the stories I've heard from his past players themselves Coach Ham is one of a kind and has literally worked himself to the bone year after year at every coaching stop. His legacy isn't Ws and Ls.  So give it a rest. It may be old school cliché, but could you even walk a mile in his shoes? The man has retired from coaching, let him be. Even on these measily message boards.
    • Evans-Collins got a lot of play over the years.  Several junior high teams and the youth leagues played there in my day.
    • Nick Boykin of Riverdale Hs and Sunkist Kids WC will wrestle in the Olympic Trials finals tomorrow against Joe Rau. Winner goes to Tokyo!
    • Yeah, I’ve seen it cause issues too. I read in a newspaper that he was just going to teach, so I assumed it was at CRHS. Maybe I misunderstood. Are there any guys on his staff ready to take it over?
