Semi-final Matchups

Who will be playing each other in the semi-final rounds of the "A" and "AA" TMSAA playoffs. I know the large school winners: it will be Robertsville @ Jacksboro and SMMS @ Clinton. Anyone know the small schools and want to venture out with some predictions?

Jacksboro has a strong defense and a pretty good power rushing attack. Robertsville has eliminated the Eagles the last 3 years in the playoffs, but this time the game is at Jacksboro. Both teams defeated Horace Maynard rather easily, Jacksboro 24-0 at HMMS the 5th game of the season and Robertsville won in the 1st round of the playoffs 34-6 at home.

Power vs. speed. Should be a great match-up, but without knowing hardly anything about Robertsville, I like the roll the Eagles are on. Jacksboro in a nail-biter.

Jacksboro is on a roll and they did, in fact win. Not sure of the score but I know it was impressive. Clinton won over SMMS 40-6 last night. Should be a good match up in the finals. They have already played, but I expect to see a completely different Jacksboro team this time. They are confident and rolling right along. Anyone know their record? Should be a good game, any thoughts?

In the early season matchup at Clinton, the Dragons rolled to a 28-0 victory over the Jacksboro Eagles. HOWEVER, the Eagles were without their starting QB/LB Bradley Hicks. Since Hicks returned the 3rd game of the season, the Eagles have been impressive.

In addition, 3 of Clinton's score came on big plays of 60+ yards, including a recovered fumble returned for a 68 yard TD.

I must admit I was surprised with the ease the Eagles defeated the Robertsville Rams (37-14) last week. If the Eagles bring the full team effort exhibited vs. the Rams, it should be a very interesting and hard fought contest. Once again, it is power vs. speed. If the Eagles can manage the clock and churn out the yardage and keep Clinton's outside speed contained, I feel they may pull off another big game. Eagles in a close one!

CAK beat Oneida in the A division by three points in overtime on a 36 yard field goal. That is awesome for middle school. Oneida had beaten CAK in the regular season. The same story for the AA championship, a rematch. Clinton won 28-0 in the regular season but was able to keep Jacksboro from moving the football at all. Championship final score was 34-0. Clinton just had too many weapons. I think the final tally for points on the season was 374-26. Congratulations to all four teams on wonderful seasons. I hope these Hawks can carry over the success to the land of the Dragons!!

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
