Go to a football game without a band and you'll see. The whole atmophere is different when the band plays as the team runs out on the field. It might be hard to belive but I know people who come to the game right before halftime, watch the bands, then leave. Also with the contest its as much a sport as some others they have in high school. 60 to 200 people moving in step at the same time and let me tell ya you are out of breath and TIRED when the show is done. Nothing like a good marching band at a high school football game playing the fight song when their team scores.

so yeah i just joined this site just so i could post on this part im a band kid through and through i live for marching saeson and love everyminuite of it band is great i dont care what anyone says im glad that "coacht" put a part on here for band at laest someone recogonizes our amazing coolness so yeah go coacht i thank you

yeah whatever so its concert season and concert fest is quickly approaching what are some other bands playing for it????

oakland is plaing march slave and esprit do corps

very fun but quite a bit tricky for the w.w.s (wooswinds) among us

I don't know where you came from, but 75% of the people in my county come to either see the cheerleaders, or the band.

 

And I really wouldn't be complaining, because even if they ARE parents, guess where the money goes! Football. Most bands I know around here get no more than $100 to make it on a year. Look what football gets.

mm i think you forgot a 0 its 1000 at least thats what iv been told ever since i was in middle school but STILL $1000 doesnt even put a dent in our budgets our band budget was $48000 not including winter guard

Nah. Our band gets $100. I guess that's just a difference of counties though.

Jackson County High School. Love the school. But the band just isn't appreciated for what they do. Every now and then we get recognition, but I guess it's just where the main focus in this county is high-contact sports.
