Looking for brackets/schedules for all 5 divisions. If not schedules, then just a list of teams in each division.

I know the girls from Meigs County are supposed to play Springfield on Feb. 4th. I think it is in the 5a bracket. Can someone tell me how the divisions are decided ??...Meigs has never been there so this is all greek to us...

Classification is based on 8th grade enrollment. 5A is the largest division in the TNT Tournament. Any idea who Meigs Co. will be playing?

They play Springfield........I would think Meigs would be considered a SMALL school since they have only 140 something 8th graders......but, like I said, it's all greek to me......Do you know anything about Springfield's team?

There are usually alot of really small schools that participate in the TNT. The 1A division usually has 8th grade enrollments of about 10 - 35 students. It all depends on how many schools enter and are accepted (based on record) within certain enrollments.

Springfield is, of course, the host. I know the Springfield girls have at least two losses this year, both to Greenbrier Middle. Traditionally, they are a decent team, but as for how good they are this year, I'm not really sure.

Well thanks for the info.......Do you know who is traditionally the strongest of the strong in this tourney ??.....We have heard that White Co. is always real good....we are just now venturing out and playing a little out of our "little area"...

White County always has a good showing at Springfield. Another team that comes to mind is David Lipscomb, who I believe is like 14 - 3 this year. They are always in the 5A draw and are always pretty strong, especially with guard play. If I knew what all teams were in it this year, I would be able to help you out more.

Well in the 5a division is White Co., Greenbrier, DeKalb Co., David Lipscomb, Hickman Co., Springfield, Meigs Co., and the Sequatchie Valley Conference Champs (who is yet to be determined). Any info would be helpful...

It won't allow me to send an e-mail that way. If you want to drop me a line at ptguard123@yahoo.com, I'll reply to you.

So, Greenbrier Middle gets White Co. right off the bat, huh? Ooooh! They're a decent team, but play in a very weak conference (county). Went 13-0 till last night where they lost by 4 to Goodpasture. I'm sure White Co. will be tough.

Good little tournament and a money-maker for Springfield (Middle and local businesses). Excellent competition from all areas of TN. The real deal usually wins. Brackets are sometimes skewed 'cause Springfield Middle's boys coach runs it. He makes it tough on those he doesn't like or respect. Sorry to be negative, but it's the truth. Still a good tournament with lots of good ballplayers.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
