Ptguard12's TNT Predictions

1A

Monteagle over Lobelville - A rematch of last year's semifinal game in which Lobelville won by 1. This year, however, Monteagle holds the edge with the returning of 4 starters from last year while Lobelville returns only their leading scorer from the tournament last year.

2A

Allons over Winner of Linden/Rutherford - The best game in this bracket could be the semi-final matchup between Linden and Rutherford as both teams boast solid starting lineups. The winner should give Allons all they want in the finals.

3A

Rickman over Red Boiling Springs - 3 of the top 4 teams in this group are in the lower part of the bracket in Red Boiling Springs, McEwen, and Pickett County. Red Boiling Springs would have dominated this tournament with Leonard but they can expect some trouble without her. However, the defending 2A champions should get through to the finals where they will have to overcome Rickman in the Championship Game.

4A

University School of Jackson over Forrest - The undefeated private school girls from Jackson will coast to the final where they will get a test from the 2-time defending champions from Chapel Hill. However, the Forrest Lady Rockets just don't seem to have the same kind of firepower they have had in previous years, so I don't see them keeping up with a very good USJ team.

5A

White County over Meigs County - There is no reason to believe that White County won't once again win this division with their up-tempo offense and smothering defense. Meigs County should present a good test to the defending champions, that is if they can get by their semi-final opponent.

PT, if USJ girls don't play any better than this past Saturday, Forrest may not have as much of a problem as you think. The 2 weeks layoff, the more physical play (and subsequent lack of calls) and the 2-1/2 hour drive seem to be a little much for these girls. They do have a good team (19-0 at this point), but it will be a testiment to their will and desire to win for them to take it all and that was not evident last Saturday. Here's to hoping they find that desire. Good Luck and .....Go Lady Bruins!

ptguard12, do you have any idea what the score was in the David Lipscomb - Hickman Co. game ? Pretty sure we got a pretty good draw in the first round by playing the host team but the refereeing was awful....

From what I've been told, refereeing on the first weekend was pretty rough. I have heard quite a few complaints about the lack of calls made and the inexperience many of the referees seem to have. Hopefully, this will be fixed by this coming weekend, so there will be no comments or excuses made about the calls made in the games.

I hope so. Always want the outcome decided by the players. The refs are there to merely enforce the rules of play for both teams equally and a lack of such calls leads to issues getting out of hand both on and off court. Thanks for the input.

I think you are writing off the Overton County teams (Hilham, Allons, Rickman) a little early. Allons should see finals as should Hilham boys and Rickman girls.

Huh? I picked Allons and Rickman girls to win their divisions. I picked Hilham and Allons boys to win their divisions as well. I am WELL aware of how good these Overton County teams are.

I know in the Meigs game the calling was awful. We were playing the HOME team and kind of expected some of it, but it was worse than bad. Even several Springfield parents told us they were embarassed by it.

No, I have no idea. Has no one informed you of who won that game?

We know who won...just kinda wanted to know the score.......

If you are not from the Nashville area you will not get any calls, in our game there was called 21 fouls against us and 9 for the area team. They went to the freethrow line 15 times and we went 0. We feel your pain.............
