I heard the boys Striker 90 team is disbanding this year and not even competeing in the state cup? What happened?

There were numerous players on the team that were not able to play in the State Cup for various reasons, so the decision was made to not participate this year.

As for disbanding, we don't know what will happen following the high school season. Tryouts will be held, and we will go from there.

I do know that there are a number of players who feel that it is time to make the move to different teams, some because they want a more challenging atmosphere, and some because they want a less challenging atmosphere. Every player has to find the team where he can be an asset, yet continue to grow and improve.

As someone stated earlier, there is talk of an 89-90 combination team, but I don't know any more than that.

Good grief!!! Isn't it time we stopped beating this dead horse. We as parents have only ourselves to blame for this team falling apart.

i will agree with you that the parents are the biggest plus an minus of any team trying to stay together, the number of top players start to drop off has they get to be about 16,just a fact ,they should not have moved up to d1 if seemed the coach was forced to make a move, just to say your a d1 team you must be able to playat that level some of you r players can but some are not able which is hard for some parents to understand which cause a problem, hope they can hold on a little longer

TNFC 90 tryout on Wednesday and Friday of this week, 7 - 8:30 at the Williamson County Rec Center.

TNFC will be having two D1 teams, the Blue team who came second in the State tournament and the White team who tied the #3 team and this years State Champion in bracket play.

There is also the possibility of a third team at this age group, depending on numbers and talent.

TNFC 90 will be pretty good, they have picked up three new players in January Ozvaldo Faire and Daniel Tackling from KFC Crush and Patrick Kelly from Tenneessee United, who all play ODP.

Perhaps Fraire and Tackling should have stayed with Crush. Do they plan to keep playing in Franklin or return to Chattanooga?

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
