he is on pace to hit 82 home runs this season, but I doubt that will happen. i imagine pretty soon that they will start pitching around him as would said earlier. if he does not break the single season record this season, he will break soon, as long as he stays healthy. He should also give Aaron, Bonds, and Ruth a good run(that was weird to type, it has always been Aaron and Ruth)

A lot of that depends on what the guys around him do. Rolen is starting to hit very well. Granted, he's still no AP, but he can make you pay.

It takes a lot of factors, but he has adaquete people to "cover" him so that in most cases, teams are going to have to pitch to him.

At this point, I think he has a very legitimate shot at hitting 74.

Steve Philips said that Pujols will pass bonds 73 yesterday, but I still dont see it happening! Eventually teams will start pitching around him so that anyone beats them except Pujols!

25 homeruns...wow! That`s something that is always fun to watch...someone chasing a record. I always use to check the boxscores everyday when someone like Boggs or Carew were giving chase to hitting .400 for the season. That`s something I`d really liike to see acheived again. What active player has the best chance to hit .400?

Ichiro--speed lots of infield hits, puts ball in play--had kind of a down year for him last year, but anyone that can get 262 hits might could hit .400.

He got hurt today. This kills his chances of 74. But he's still my 1 and only pick for 756. That might have been what jinxed him. Ken Griffey Jr. was my 1 and only pick at 1 time.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
