Pujols might be back by the time Clemens is back in the majors. He only got put on the 15 day DL, although it will probably get pushed to 30.

Well look at it this way Opp. He may rehab a game or two in Memphis if he does go on the DL.

They'll probably just put him right back into the mix in STL. They don't send their stars down on rehab often.

Pujols may be on the 15 day DL, but I am not really that worried. I would rather it be now than October. Records don't mean much to me this year. It's do or die for the Cards to win that World Series.

Yup, he can play first and it doesn't hurt his abdomen as much. Granted, I'd still much rather have him in center, but right now with AP down we need his bat in the lineup.

Why should they? You can lift weights without steroids. And Pujols has always been a big guy, he's gained an average of 3 pounds a year in MLB so far.

He's done it off and on before. I think I heard the broadcasters say yesterday was either his 40th start or appearance at first, I don't rememeber which. I vaugely remember him playing there a few times as a Cardinal. Bottom line, with AP out, the Cards have got to have his bat in the lineup. I'm sure when we play in AL parks he'll DH, but otherwise he'll be at first.

 

They are saying AP will be out anywhere from 2-6 weeks. The big questions is will Jocketty try to get another bat in the lineup, and if so, who will he give up for him.

According to John Krupp, the longest anyone has ever been out for this type of injury is 30 days. Worst case scenerio....
