mctigersportsfan
She can drive the wheels off of a car that weighs 1500 lbs and has a tons of downforce, horsepower and very wide tires. She might make it in Nascar after a few years of Arca, Busch and the Nextel/Sprint Cup whatever it will be by then. A blind albino monkey can sit in an Indy car and go fast for the reasons I mentioned above. In Cup the driver plays a bigger role than in Indy Cars. In Indy Cars they practice a few laps and come in and download the info. In Nextel Cup you practice a few laps and the driver relays to his crew what is happening. Without the understanding of the cars she will not be the driver in Nextel that she is in IRL. Sara Fisher is going thru a huge learning curve running Nascar West series for the past two years just trying to get ready for Busch series. She is running the best of the best as far as equipment goes out west driving RCR cars. It might happen but it will take everything Jack Roush has to make it a success. Bledsoebtheboys
I read on ESPN.com that she says "My heart is with IndyCar"......
gotmilk?
This is the craziest thing I have ever heard, the woman hasnt even won a race in the Indy series! If this happens, it will just be a publicity stunt and she will fade after a year or two!

Michelle Wie being #2 in the world in the LPGA tour and she hasn't even won an event or nothing...I just don't understand it...
Grace Golden Eagles
True, Danica Patrick hasn't won any races, BUT didn't her team come in 2nd in the Indy points race last year? I'm all for Patrick coming in NASCAR if she can handle it. I mean come on, the woman is good-lookin'. Here's the real problem: Toyota in NASCAR. It breaks my heart, not really, but kinda, that Awesome Bill and DJ will be driving the foreign auto-maker next year. Anybody with me on that one? coach15
I think she will stay in the IRL..I think she is just flirting with Nascar because she would get a huge raise I am sure
Boonie
Danica drives OK but it sounds like NASCAR is going after the "Dirty Old Man" audience with this one. PR hype and nothing more. She ain't ready to rub fenders just yet. Lets see her win in Indy first, or Busch / ARCA.
VolunteerGeneral
I think a lot of you are forgetting what drives this sport...money. I don`t think it`s required to win an Indy race to be a NASCAR driver. The fact is she is VERY marketable and that means sponser money. IF she wanted to make a move toward stock cars I have no doubt that there would be some owners more than willing to hire her on as a driver. I doubt they would start her out in NEXTEL races, but I think she has proven that she is capable.
Boonie
That is the whole problem with NASCAR today....its all about the money.....its not nearly as exciting as it used to be. The bigger it gets the worse it gets.
