how can you say Henry County is at the top of the division when they are 1-2 with their only win coming against Hardin County... a team that won't win a game this year unless they beat Adamsville...

rethink that one buddy...

JCM, Munford, and Brighton might mark one down in the loss column for Henry County.

Come talk to us again at the end of the regular season Alexander. Might want to rethink that one buddy....

I figured something had to be up with that, but if they get caught is another thing. Our scouts that went and saw Munford last week said they could possibly go from last in our region to give the region title a run for its money. They have a DE from East that is about 6'6" and a running back that I know of. It amazes me at what people think they can get by with.

I do wish you people could get your gossip straight. It amazes me to read such trash. Do you really think that someone with Coach Randal's record would stand for such? The 6'6" kid came from Frayser only one came from East. If I could get out of Frayser I'd leave too.

i dont kno too much about the munford story except from what ive read on here but i dont think it matters where or why a kid changes schools.....as long as they move and nothing is being paid for it doesnt matter...some one else was talkin bout dyer co and kids from lake co goin to dc......if i lived in LC and could go to DC i would go in a heart beat.....DC has a tradition of being good in the past...may not be this year but they have been good in the past....

every body needs to quit bein jealous just because yall know munford is gonna come out with a bang. if your gonna try the old illegal player trick, then you should be ashamed of your self.....58indians22......<<<<<

I highly doubt that Munford will come out with a bang. It`s gonna take more than a couple of transfers to improve their team from last year. I also noticed they got yet another transfer from Melrose. (Courtney Madison)

My oh my..Munford may be a 5A team by the end of the season. It seems Coach Randall`s hiring has been a big boost to property tax income in the area. I`m sure it`s all coincidence that they are getting these kids to move to Munford.

Let's get up to date. The player at Munford that came from Frayser is there because his two best friends had to go to Coach Randall to get in college. The East coach fixed highlight tapes for the two when the coach at Frayser made absolutely no effort to help these two kids get in school. Both players are presently on scholarship. Courtney Madison had originally planned to transfer to East High until Randall was fired. I remember several years ago when the newspaper ran the story about the Melrose player that went to Coach Randall for help getting in college when he and his coach had a falling out. Don't think that the Madison kid didn't hear about this! As far as comparisons, I read in the paper day before yesterday about the brawl in the cafeteria at Craigmont. 21 students and football players went to jail. Another day later the paper reported about the fights at Millington adn Trezevant. Think the two kids might get a better education at Munford. I don't think their school is on the state's targeted schools. Frayser and Melrose are! Maybe, just maybe these kids are interested in getting the best opportunity for both an education, a safe environment, and a chance to get into college by transferring. As a parent myself, if I could have my son receive scholarship money and not have to pay out of my pocket, I would have to seriously consider making the same type move these two young men have made.

Well when this is coming from people within that program, you might want to believe it.

That is the stupidest think I have ever heard, what type of coach would not help one of their kids get into college, if they were good enough, just maybe some of the kids weren't up to par, and the coach wasn't going to lie for them. Or just maybe there is more to this "Coach" Randall situation.

Humboldt had a rough season last year and went 2-8...back with great leadership with 11 seniors who all play and great size and speed Humboldt has started off this season 3-0...players on both sides of the ball are showing their talent...defense has only allowed 27 points against and the offense has put up 76...this past week we put up 500 total yards against 3A Lexington and defeated them 46-6 at Lexington...

Yeah Humboldt is definitely improved this year. They were pretty young last year from what I heard.

Humboldt is def. much improved and I think their defense is the biggest reason...I look at last night's beating as a statement...but, let's not put state championship rings on their fingers yet...there's still the likes of Huntingdon, Westview, and Milan in this district alone, all of which are very capable of going as deep into the playoffs as anyone...but here's what I want to know...who in the TSSAA has it out for Humboldt...In basketball this past year they were in a loaded district w/ Lake Co., Union City, Halls, and Trenton...and in football, they're in with Milan, Huntingdon, USJ, Westview, Dresden, Trenton, Gibson Co...Pretty stiff competition no matter who u play...Well, congratulations to Humboldt and don't look past Trenton

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
