Siegel Beats White County

Siegel beat WCHS in three tonight....and it was a bit of a struggle.

 

WC was ready to play. Not sure of the scores but it was something like:

 

25-23 25-23 25-10

 

Don't quote me on that, I wasn't at the game.

 

The Freshman team one 2-1 and the JV won 2-0.

Sounds like the Siegel coaching staff may want to put a little more emphasis on preparing for the season. With the talent discrepancy between these two squads, this should not have been close. Maybe 3-4 players were injured for Siegel? Otherwise, I would have to say White county must have come to play and were coached quite well!

Sounds that way but for those familiar with 7AAA, in any sport, any team will be able to compete with any other because there is something more involved than talent. And White will always be coached well especially after having lost two transfers from last years team. There will be more close matches as 7 progresses. It is a very tough district.

Siegel won the first two by identical scores of 26-24, coming back in the second game from a 23-17 score. Siegel played yery inconsitantly, with players being out of position, hits into the net and numerous service errors. Game 3 was more encouraging, as they played as a team and showed what they are capable of doing, winning big. 25-11 or 25-12, can't remember, but White County was never in the final game.
