Phargis,

I know who you are, but I won't blow your cover.

I just kind of stumbled into this forum and got a good laugh, because you were the only one that had posted anything here.

I hope you and your family are doing well. I haven't seen you in a while. If you see me at a ball game, holler at me, so I can say hi. I see that your granddaughters are doing great things in sports. I bump into Leo from time-to-time and try to catch up on things.

Catch you later.

D, felt lonely down here for a long time and thought I was talking to myself and i was. T allowed this Site to be added but with the contingency that it would be a 12.00 site bacause he really did not know how many adults would post and didn't want just MS er's posting. I still think that a site for MS Volleyball would work although you can't prove it from here. It really is a bargain. Only costs $12 a year and get the opportunity to post around the Web site. This is one of the most informative sites that a fan, player can have. newspapers read it, other teams read it, students read it, fans read it and can't say everything is productive but a lot is. it is enjoyable and productive. Send T $12.00 and see how enjoyable it can be.

P,

I agree that the $12 is worth it. I became a plus member a few months ago and it makes the entire website much better.

Give it some time and I'm sure more and more middle school folks will be getting on here.

I appreciate all of your efforts on Coach T, you do a great job of getting some discussion going.

I hope to see you at a game some time. I don't think siegel has played Eagleville in any sport yet? Do you recall?

Okay, so it's almost time for Fall Volleyball again. Maybe we can get a middle school discussion started...

How qualified is YOUR middle school coach? Our local middle school struggles mightily with this -- we had an experienced coach who was stretched to her limit, had a teacher (no experience) take over, got pregnant, coach took it over again. Again, stretched to her limit, a science teacher (no experience) took over for one year--quit--a special Ed bus driver took over (no experience) for one year -- now original coach is back again. This REALLY hurts our high school program because of all the incoming freshman who tried out, only about 3-4 made the team with only one who can make an immediate impact. Of the 6 freshmen LAST year, one played varsity immediately, 2 have quit and will not play this year, one of the remaining 3 will play varsity this year.

Why is it so hard to find someone to coach in Middle School? Do we need to find someone to do a MS COACH'S camp?

PFK, there are a lot of ways to generate interest in MS VB, in my opinion, all of which are common sense and carry with them a LOT of recognition. In my opinion, the main thing is to involve 4+ people, all of which have a main thing to do if the program is a success. The first two is the High School principal and the high school coach. The third is the MS Principal and the fourth+ are some parents who have a definite interest, front line, in the program. Once a Coach is selected, a lot of recognition needs to be provided. The HS coach needs to provide help and hold a MS coaches clinic for prospective players. Making sure that the MS's attend the Tournament that Cumberland University provides every year would help a lot. i believe there are some 18 schools that attend the tournament. Yes, a MS Coaches camp would be good and Cumberland might help with that. You would be surprised howmany good coaches show up at the tournament. Someone is doing a good job with recognition and support.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
