Take the state results in each class, and find the first 15 (all staters). Then if the person was a senior take them off the list and put the next (then) junior in line.

This will generally give you an idea of who's supposed to be in the All-State crew. Though this changes from year to year.

im thinking u didnt put those in order. its gonna be a really good race between johnson and jackson. johnson didnt really start running til this past track season and we've now seen what he is capable of. jackson had an off year his sophomore year under his new coach but he's back with his old coach this year and should make a huge drop. i think some guys that have a good shot at being one of the last five are damon varble, you cant argue against a 957, nolan davis, maybe ryan bell and i think there will be a couple guys that come out of nowhere like always, i did

So if someone does really good all year but has an off race at state they won't make the all-state team??

unfortunately that is the way it works. jackson bliton last year would be a good example. daniel jones in 04 is and even better example, he ran mid 15s all year then fell apart at state and got 31st so he didnt make all-state

Yeah, that's probably not the most accurate way to rank them, although I don't know how you'd do it better. I'll tell you right now that O'Donnell and Cole are flying, and they've got plenty of company every day during their workouts. I know that Stuart and Matt are doing well, too. Both schools (OR and West) are doing a version of Daniels' cross country plan, mixed with a few things from the 5k-15k plan--mixed with some of our own stuff.
