i apologize for getting everyone's feathers ruffled.

i just like to see you middle tn boys get all worked up by questioning your mission for intergalactic domination. :thumb:

in response to your question coniglio, things are tapering off just wonderfully. we're really stoked about regionals on thursday. i think university has got the team title pretty much locked and if it all works out as planned, we'll be battling e-town for 2nd. clabo should win pretty easily - i don't think anyone is even close.

my region 1 predictions:

boys:

a/aa - david clabo

teams: usjc, e-town, gphs

aaa - josh vasquez

teams: morristown west, d-b, science hill

girls:

a/aa - it'll come down to the kick between mcamis and basconi of e-town and davenport and brosmore of usjc (if you don't believe me check out the trailblazer results)

teams: usjc, e-town, ???

aaa: haley moody

teams: morristown west (somewhere near a perfect score), science hill, d-b

fra hasnt had a team finish lower than 2nd in what seems like forever. the streak ends next year not this year

Not necessarily true, but it will be probably the weakest team depth wise they've had since 1998. One injury next year, and they're done. FRA always loses good runners, but they always replace them as well, so people could step up. That's how they've been able to win or get 2nd all these years.

The always competitive schools go through a short dry spell every now and then. We (usually higher than 5th, last year 6th) are having the worst team since past 1995 (first xc title). Elizabethton is slower this year in year's past. USJC and JCS are coming up. Changing of the guard for a while anyone?

i think in a year or two it might finally be mlks turn to be the team to beat in region 5. right now they have a junior and 2 freshman at the top followed by a senior, a junior, and another freshman. then number 7 i think is a freshman also but they dont really have a consistent number 7 looking at the metro results. their number 7 at metro was a junior but they had a freshman run faster in the jv race and he will probably be the one running at region. so, with 4 freshman and 2 juniors in the top 7 they have a bright future

bottom line, it looks like the top teams will still be in the middle even if fra is hitting a bit of a slump

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
