Ummmm, the fact that Johnson has another year to win the individual title and its the other 3's last chance. But i guess that has no influence. You're right, knowing it's your last CC race after running for 4 years probably doesn't go through anyone's heads and doesn't affect how they would finish a race.

thats definately in the top one for dumbest things ive ever read on here. just bc your a senior doesnt mean at the state meet ur gonna run like 30 seconds faster bc its ur last race and u get all emotional and crap.the seniors who arent as good as them are they gonna run so fast that they win also bc its their last race. no. the junior could have just as much determination as the senior. please. use yall's brain for once in your lives.

I'm sorry, but last time I checked, Patterson beat Johnson head to head at Region. Last time I checked, Patterson outkicked Johnson at the end of Region. Sure, Johnson beat Patterson at Metro, but Metro isnt an imprtant race. So, I don't know where u got the idea that Johnson had more determination than Patterson or any other runner. He was not 30 seconds behind Johnson. At TN Classic, Matt Coniglio also outkicked Johnson. Johnson is a great runner, don't get me wrong. But you can't convince any of us that he has more determination than any of the other contenders.

We are not saying that these seniors are suddenly gonna run 30 seconds faster. We are saying that at the end, they will have more determination because its a more emotional race for them. Don't criticize us for being stupid when you can't even read a post correctly.

being in college and having gone through the whole senior state meet thing i definatley have to side with trent dilfer on this one. i outkicked quite a few non seniors in the last 800 of my state race. the senior emotions do make a big difference whether you want to believe it or not. why do u think the top 7 guys at state last year were seniors? they werent necessarily the top 7 runners. the first three runners to come in from region 5 at state were seniors while at the region meet, that isnt nearly as important to teams like dl and fra that know they have another race left, the first three runners included only one senior. the evidence is strongly in the favor of seniors having that emotional push in their final race
