I have had a Holland for approx 4 years and I have loved every minute of it. If you like to flip your meat while grilling you won't like it. With a Holland you heat them up, put on your meat for a few minutes, turn it over and in a very few minutes you are ready to eat. 1.5 inch ribeyes are usually well done in about 10-12 minutes if not sooner. :thumb::thumb:

Ribeyes? You get to eat ribeyes? Wow. I bet that is better than cube steak, huh.

My wife was just saying the same thing, that I wouldn't like not turning the meat every 2 minutes.

My father LOVES TO GRILL. One of these days when I get super financially comfy, I'm gonna build them a dream house and a dream deck and have the coolest grill on the planet for him and one of them big ole open stove thingies that you can do pizzas in outside.

With your house cleaning duties, that should not take long. :thumb::thumb:

This debate is like the red or green sauce for meat in New Mexico.

Totally personal preference, but. .

If you like it done fast, with little hassle, go with gas. I've used one for years. The more money you spend ( and I mean they can get expensive) the better off you will be. Stainless steel is the ONLY way to go. I've done it all ways. Side burners, though to me, are a waste of time and fuel- they take too long to heat up and stink up more gas. I've also got the rotisserie arrangement.

If you like to build the fire, and get Ruth Chris' type steaks- the Green Egg is the bomb. Be prepared to spend $$$, but that sucker heats up quick with little fuel and gets, as Jerry Clower would say, "Evermore Scaldin' Hot!!"

Big thick Rib-eyes, hot baked potato, good salad, nice bottle of wine- um, is that livin' or what?

    • Agree with most of this and add that it takes a "type A" personality to be successful as the top guy. Lots of folks are knowledgeable of the game, have the skills to co-ordinate scheduling, officials, duties, rosters, etc... What they lack is natural charisma and the innate ability to convince young men that they care for them, and what they're teaching them will make them successful if they contribute their effort. Football can be learned...leaders are born.
    • Understandable. I honestly couldn’t remember. When you lose your starting QB especially in high school it’s a big blow
    • Gotta keep it real here.  Nobody is twisting their arm making them coach football.  There are more high school football coaches around here than ever.  Schools that have the same enrollment today as they had 50 years ago have 5-6 coaches instead of two.  Every head coaching vacancy will get a flood of applications.  Well over 20 at West Carroll from what I read earlier in this thread.  There's more men getting into coaching each year than are getting out.  The fact is that there are far too many high school football coaches out there.  Like I said, just keeping it real.
    • Off the top of my head WV finished 3rd and RC finished 4th. I think both lost close games in the first round. Overall they were pretty evenly matched last year.
    • I’m gonna be tapped in for that Marion Co. game 🪶 🔥
