No offense, but one 5-5 season does not exactly single a change in the right direction. If Ryan couldn't beat MBA last year, they likely won't any time soon. I don't really know if Ryan can count any DII game as a sure win. But that second schedule is a lot softer and looks more favorable to Ryan. With that schedule they might be able to hit 6 wins.

You said last year that we wouldnt even win 3-4 games? Proved you wrong, eh? And MBA will be beatable without Rutledge now (rather easily if their head coach is from FRA). Yea, FR is in excellent shape this year. You're forgetting that we have one of the best coaches in the state making QUICK results.

Ok we might have lost to MBA but answer this riddle.

Who made playoffs?

kkthx

And I thought we opened with Overton, not the 'Boro.

I stand corrected, winning 5 games is significantly better than winning 3 or 4 and definitely something to brag about. After all of the injuries and whatnot, the 2006 MBA team ended up one of the worst MBA teams in the past 20 years, as opposed to a 5-5 Ryan team that was one of the best teams they've had this decade.

While Dan McGugin has not been named the new head coach, his coaching ability is excellent. Where you aware that before he was the head coach at FRA he was on the staff at Miami? Probably not. Also, do you remember all of the yardage MBA racked up on the ground last fall? Well, Dan was coaching the running backs and got plenty of production out them so I think we're in great shape. And then again, they could bring in a coach from California for all we know.

I am 100% sure that they open week 0 with Hillsboro at Hillsboro.

You are 100% wrong. Hillsboro plays Franklin @ Hillsboro week 0. Ryan did not want to play Hillsboro as Hillsboro tried to get the game scheduled for 07.

It is true that they would not play Hillsboro for whatever reason and Franklin stepped up to the plate.

8-2,9-1, or 10-0.... Either record looks good to me but ill take the 10-0

Well that schedule is significantly weaker than the previous one. I bet FR can easily win 3 out of the first 4, but winning 2 out of the next 6 will be a significant challenge. I'd say 6-5 sounds about right, with a 1st round playoff dismissal.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
