People please look!!!!

(UPDATE: From Sports By Brooks again, the Las Vegas police say they aren't yet ready to name anyone, let alone Pac-Man Jones, as a person of interest in the shooting. Do not jump to conclusions.)

.....

It doesn't matter if he "did" it or not... Someone like him should NOT be with a crowd like this. Kids look up to him. Its funny every where he goes, trouble follows. Regardless if he is ever convicted of anything. Think about the kids, not the millionare who everyone feels bad for because he is getting a bad rep.

The kids should not be looking up to pro athletes anyways. If a child does look up to an athlete, parents have to explain to their kids what is right and wrong. Pacman shouldn't have to go around thinking about what the kids of America would think about his actions. Yes, Pacman makes bad decision, partly because of the people he associates with. If anything parents should use athletes as examples of what not to do. Don't be like Pacman, don't be like Tom Brady, and so on.

Kids aren't looking up to PacMan, least of all kids around here. This was the NBA All-Star weekend. Las Vegas.

Wonder what all of those pro athletes (you know, the ones all the kids look up to) were doing during the week and after hours. Maybe it was Charles Barkley losing at blackjack to the tune of 50K per hand; maybe it was Michael Jordan dropping $400K at tables; maybe it was any number of pro athletes drinking Cristal champagne with a dozen girls and hangers-on partying in the comped luxury suites; maybe it was football players like Pac and rappers like Nelly, and other celebs hanging out at Minxxx at 5 AM (which was rented all week by a strip club from Houston for private parties); and maybe a few of the girls got into a fight with some patrons and Pac and his friends going out the back door; and maybe there were gunshots fired and Pac and his buddies run to their cars and drive off; and maybe, after the LVPD investigated him and 40 other witnessess who were at the club tell the world that he is NOT a suspect-only a witness.

And maybe we should think he should act unlike any other 23 year old millionaire professional athlete with his background, and not do the things that an overwhelming majority of single, rich, pro athletes do- party, spend money, drink too much, and hang around with people who revel in their celebrity. Maybe they should have more control and be smarter.

Face it- none of us knows how we would act if we were in his shoes. And I think we should all get over our naivety and face facts: as long as he performs on the field and doesn't get arrested and thrown in jail for a serious crime, as a pro athlete he will do what he wants to do. You can't yank his scholarship and sure can't take the cap hit and cut him.
