Who Has the Best JV Team In the Big 9?

Maybe the question should of been "Who has the best JV Team in the Big 9, not counting DB"

Or maybe,"Who has the Best JV Team in the Big 9 who's school begins with a "C" and the school colors are orange & white"

Who Has the Best JV Team In the Big 9?

I'm assuming by joining yesterday and starting this thread you already had your mind made up who you thought was "the best JV team" and this is not an open debate...so tell us who the "best jv team in the Big 9" is..the suspense is killing me.

In no way did imply that. Central's JV has a lot of players that will be major contributors next year, but they are not very deep that all. I've watched a couple and it seems like East has a pretty good JV.

Hey Hess for Prez, don't reply to anything Waco says. Nobody pays any attention to his posts. Even the DB fans are trying to ignore him.

DB has 6 Varsity players playing on their JV team. McGue (Junior), King (Junior), Flack (Junior), McConnell (Sophomore), Riggs (I believe a sophomore, but not sure), and one other post player I am not too sure of his name (Hardy maybe??). Anyways, none of these 6 receive significant minutes on Varsity any longer. In my opinion, there are 3 of these kids that should, but do not. However, that is for another thread.

The question asked was who has the best JV team in the Big 9. This is actually not up for debate since DB has run through practically every team they have played up to this point, regardless of them having Varsity players or not. In my personal opinion, it is the right thing to do to place your underclassmen that are not receiving many minutes on the JV team to give them the opportunity to play in games and get better. If you don't, you are simply keeping them around as a practice player with hopes they can get better by practicing each day. Even then, once they get to the Varsity level, they will be playing in a competitive game, under the lights, which they may not have done in a long time.

Either way, if DB playing Varsity players on their JV is a problem for some of you, ignore this thread and create your own titled, "Who has the best JV team in the Big 9 (Except DB, South, Science Hill, and anyone else who plays some underclassmen Varsity players on their JV team).

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
