Page, Father Ryan, McGavock are all up there from the Middle Tennessee area.

Page made semifinals at BOA Grand Nationals last year, and Father Ryan missed it by 2 tenths of a point.

Big Mac is just historically one of the best. It's relatively saddening that Father Ryan and McGavock will not see each other this year in any contest, with FR's upset over McG in every caption last year at Traveler's Rest Invitational.

from what i determined from this years COC.

McGvock kinda stunk

they should NOT have made finals

their playing was so-so

and their drill was so simple and boring it's not even funny

from the people i've asked, they said it was one of the worst performances of the day /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

The Happy Valley High School Warrior Band is the best in Tennessee period. Our tuba player could beat up your tuba player any day. He blows harder than any other tuba player i have ever seen. Our drum line is pretty amazing i aint gonna lie. I hate the betsy band they are terrible. GO WARRIORS!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Sullivan Central. Best band in the nation.

Hixson used to have a great band. As good as I ever saw (although I'm biased). I never ever saw them march when they didn't receive a standing ovation. And not just a standing O, but loud cheers, both home and away. Frank Hale was the band director.

Tried to find something on YouTube and found this link to the band in '85. Not the best routine I've seen the band do, but still good. The current Hixson band is nothing like the old.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
