glad coach melton and dunn got it they both deserve it....dunn is definitely on another level than anyone else in the district, if not 2 or 3 levels, no he isnt lebron, but if he was 6'6" or so we'd def know he was, as of now, he is the best, and will be for at least 2 more years, sorry bout the truth, and coach meltons record and back to back district season titles speak for their self dont they?

But all Dunn Does is the same thing he hasnt changed it up at all, like jumping into you on a layup all you do is act like your going to jump with him and he will go out of controll, also all he does with a screen is fake like he is going to use and and go opposite other teams should be picking up on this. Also Melton doesnt really coach all it is is a drive and kick offense then he just watches his team play and trys to run up the score.

Well if Chase Dunn is so predictable what does that say for all of those other players that still can't stop him. You are kinda making them look even worse than he does.

As for your Coach Melton comment, if you don't know any more about basketball than that, then you shouldn't even be on this board.

All the other coaches must think he can coach. They voted for him. But I am sure they just voted for him because he has the youngest team in the district.

He is a little predictable, but give credit where it is due. If you jus get back on him, for the most part he wont score very many, he scores most his points on lay-ups from just running down the floor, while his teammates are trying to rebound and they throw it out to him, but he is a good player. I will go ahead and say Bass wins MVP next season. He will be tough to stop. He is harder to stop than Dunn, if u have someone quick u can stop Dunn, not so much the same said for Bass. But congrats to both players on their accomplishments this season.

Bass is very good, bit he will have to improve alot to win MVP next year. He's a good jumper and a good post presence, but he needs some serious work on his jump shot. He did absolutely nothing at Cannon Co. when they put a big guy in his face. He is a good player with alot of potential, but could use improvement.

well, I think he needs to stay about the same size he is.. he needs to grow maybe two or three inches... There is some 6' 6" and 6' 8" players that can barely catch the ball. Dunn is amazing to watch.... he is a great player.. keep it up dunn

QUOTE(pdbmit @ Feb 14 2007 - 04:55 PM) 826371968[/snapback]I'd have to agree, someone will have to move into 7AA to unseat Dunn. He has had very few off nights.

He's had three bad nights against DC...the team holding next year's mvp DeAndre Bass. This isnt a coincidence. Im not dissing LA on any way but i have yet to be impressed with either of the mvps from the girls or boys side. Stover is more of a problems for the boys and it seems that Ashley Matthews has trouble getting up and down the floor and was clearly outplayed by Holly Compton of Macon county and by most of the Upperman guards in general. Mallie Stephens is about the only mvp caliber player on the team. They are good...but this is just how i see it.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
