Talking with some Mt. Juliet supporters at last nights MJ-Beech district game, it was mentioned to me tomorrow's MJ middle championship game with Sycamore was the 8th or 9th year in a row the school had participated in the girls sectional tournament, winning three championships and finishing second twice. Many of the folks had daughters that played for Mount Juliet and no one could think of another school with such a run of consecutive sectional appearances. Smyrna's been there, as has Lavergne, Dickson, Whitthorne, Central, and last year, Sycamore, but none has put together a consecutive run that begins to touch MJ's record of making the tournament every single year of Mount Juliet Middle's existence, even back to the last year of MJ junior high's last year, when Coach Johnson won the state with Kelly Gassie and Holly Hudson. Congrats Coach Johnson and Lady Bears, and good luck tomorrow night. Go Lady Bears!

Coach Johnson is an amazing coach with a great history.

 

There was no way he was letting Sycamore win 6 out of the last 7 against his Mt. juliet ladies. He proved that tonight.
