QUOTE(GREENEDEVILMOM @ Mar 13 2007 - 08:51 PM) 826410766West beat Greeneville 4-1. West pitched Bridgewater (their ace) and Greeneville pitched their #4 man in the rotation. Matt Cutshaw went yard on the 2nd pitch of the game for Greeneville.

I saw over on a Rutledge/PF topic that Rutledge beat Cherokee 24-2 yesterday. Anyone got any detailes about the game?

24-2?

So much for the talk that has came from the reservation lately...

QUOTE(DZbettin @ Mar 13 2007 - 10:46 PM) 826410908Jefferson County beat Rutledge tonight in five innings 15-5, 14 hits and three homeruns. Patriots play Halls Thursday and Pigeon Forge Friday, with possible games on Saturday.

Hey DZ, did Joey Belcher pitch for JC? Who hit the HR's. And to think everyone has been saying JC is down this year.

GDM, Joey did pitch for Jefferson County. He wasn't as crisp as I saw him at times last year. He gave up seven hits, five walks, but did pitch better late in the game, allowing only two hits in the last three innings. He made a couple of mistakes early and Rutledge made him pay, a two-run homer in the first inning, three-run homer in the second.

At the plate for JC, Belcher, Zach Long and Nick Sherrod all hit homeruns and went a combined 8-of-11 with 3 HR, 2 2b, seven RBIs and seven runs scored.

JC also was better than I thought they would be at the bottom of the order, 7-8-9-1 (Tyler Smith, Clark Paschual, Christian McFall and Will Brummett, all newcomers except Brummett who was bumped into the varsity starting lineup during tournament last year) went 5-of-9 with four walks four RBIs and four runs scored.

The thing about JC is Belcher and Sherrod are the only returning pitchers from last year. The JC offense should be able to put up runs, but all of the newcomers on the pitching staff are going to have to step up in a hurry with the way the conference games are being played this year. Gotta have good pitchers 3-4 deep at least.

And the prediction for this year was 1. West 2.Cherokee 3.East 3.Jeff.County and so on.

Rutledge beat Cherokee that bad, and Cherokee was pitching there ace? Someone had high expectations for Cherokee this year didnt they?

Down fall for Cocke Co. is that they have one senior on the team.rest mostly freshman and sophmores with few jr.

Did Greenway play in the game on Tuesday? And why didnt Cutshaw pitch? Were the waiting for confrence play?

Greenway pitched four innings of 1 run 3 hit ball. (He is Greenevilles ace, not cutshaw and for sure not Knight, Cody Duncan is probably greenevilles 2nd best pitcher)

Cutshaw came in in the fifth and gave up four earned runs in 3 innings. Also with men on first and second GHS's CF made a play at the warning track to save the game.

Cutshaw is probably Greeneville's fourth or fifth best For sure not 1 or 2 and probably not three.

Matts better off in the field anyway,In my opinion he should stay at SS put greenway CF move trimble over 35 yards with fillers playing Left and Ryan Duncan playing 3rd....

The downfall of Cocke Co. and Cherokee is that neither of them can compete in AA, let alone AAA.

First off, Greenway did play on TUESDAY, like the question asked. He played SS. Cody Duncan was pitched so as West wouldn't face our top 3 pitchers.

If you are going to spit out stats from last nights game against Heritage, be sure you know what is right. Greenway only gave up 2 hits in 4 innings last night. Both hits were doubles to the Reed kid. The only other 2 baserunners given up by Greenway reached on walks. Also, I dont remember Coach Richards ever labeling anyone his "ace". Cutshaw, Knight, and Greenway are all good pitchers; each one has his pros and cons. I am sure every coach in the conference would be happy to have either one of these guys on their team.

Second off, I guess since you know so much that maybe Coach Richards can take a back seat and let you make all the pitching decisions. Oh wait, maybe since he played ball in college and has coached baseball for ever how many years now, that he may know talent a little more than you do....and makes his decision based on talent and not JEALOUSY.

Maybe you need to just ride the pine and be happy, and get over your jealousy, or maybe work harder in practice to get playing time. This team will surprise people this year once the sophmores get some varsity experience as long as PEOPLE LIKE YOU KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT and not cause problems among the players and let the coaches coach. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
