Morristown West @ Tennessee High

Science Hill @ Cherokee

Volunteer @ Greeneville

Morristown East @ Dobyns Bennett

 

 

Too bad these games cant all be at one site like other years.

 

I like Tennessee High vs Science Hill in one semifinal and Dobyns Bennett vs. Greeneville in the other. That would be one good night of basketball over at South. To my knowledge, a team from Region 1 has made state every year since 1992. Is this the year the streak ends? I really hope not.

Yea too bad all games are at different sites. Just more $$$$$$ for the money hungry TSSAA. My picks will be Tn. High vs. SH, and probably Greeneville vs. DB.

 

If I had to pick one of the top seeds to get upset it would be it would be Tn. High or Greeneville. Look for SH to take Tn High on a neutral court and DB to take Greeneville (mostly due to coaching or the lack thereof) and meet for the Regional crown. DB wins round 3 but no one from this region makes it to the big dance in M'boro.

I believe it will be tn high beating the hill in one semifinal and then db beating greenville in the other. It will be a rematch of the district championship for the reginal championship. Im sure this will be a good 1!

If I were to predict the outcome of DB-Greeneville based on coaching, I would have to go with Greeneville.

My picks:

 

Greeneville vs Volunteer-Greeneville

DB vs Morristown East-DB

Tenn High vs Morristown West-Tenn High

SH vs Cherokee-SH

 

SH vs Tenn High-SH

DB vs Greeneville-DB

 

SH vs DB- SH

 

This region is real even right now and I expect may close games so it is hard to pick a winner. There is no dominant team really in this region. I pick SH because they are a 3 seed and really there is no pressure on them and they can play the underdog spoiler roll. I know I am probably the only one that thinks this but what the heck. SH wins Region 1-AAA.

DB vs Greeneville

SH vs T High

with the finals being:

Greeneville vs SH

and Greeneville winning the region.

Should be worth the price of admisson.
