QUOTE(MiddleTNBasketball @ Mar 19 2007 - 01:35 PM) 826417622Who are the top Tennessee 17u AAU teams this year? A couple from last year when they were 16u, were Nashville Celtics, Midstate Ballerz Elite, Tennessee Thunder, Nashville Stallions, YOMCA WarEagles 15's, Music City Jags, etc.

I think the Travelers should be up there, the ballerz lost Kevin Giltner to the Travelers, and I have heard that the Travelers are stacked in 15,16, and 17.

Ballerz Elite and Ballerz Select will both be good...

Outside of that, here's what I see (in no particular order):

-Nashville Celtics will be very tough. Great recruiting has this group completely reloaded, led by Williams, Torstrick, and Wells...

-Travelers are always good. Not sure how big, outside of the possibility of having Slavoric for one tourney, but loaded at guard and wing...

-Team Chaos may be the best of this group. Williams, Jones, Bowers, White lead a loaded Memphis group...

-YOMCA will be young, but mega talented. Along with the super sophs will by Jones, Blake, and Ware, making this a top notch group...

-Memphis Celtics led by Jermaine Johnson, one of the best coaches on the AAU circuit, will also be loaded. Not sure exactly with who, but Mason, Arnett, Brock lead this talented team that made a final 4 run at Adidas Atlanta last July...

-Tenn All Stars will be a new comer to this group, loaded with NW TN talent. Very underrated group...

-Tenn Thunder will likely have their best group since Collins and Herndon, led by Upton, McAdoo, Morris...

-Tenn Mavs will be under the radar, but as good as any in the state, led by Jurrick and a host of underrated juniors like Taylor, Ricks...

-Tenn Heat is another newcomer, but will mainly be a 19:u roster, unable to play many 17u events...

-Music city Jags also will be talented, led by Newbill, Woods...

-Knox Cagers, Knox Lakers, and Midsouth Prospects are other 17u teams to keep an eye on...

Hope I didn't miss anyone, but that was a quick rundown...

Look for detailed rankings soon on unapproved as well as unapproved website

QUOTE(bigyomca @ Mar 23 2007 - 09:00 PM) 826421302Elliott Williams, Lawerence Bowers, Jason Jones and Tony Smith are playing on the Y 17's, along with Gentry Hines, Greg Wooten, Leslie McDonald, Johnnie Williams and Ferrakohn Hall.

Who is Team Chaos then, isnt it m33M? Though Williams, Bowers and Jarvis Jones and those guys were playing on that team. Always hard to tell down there who is playing where each weekend. Love to hear your thoughts. Wells is playing with Travs by the way.

Until kids show up at an event with a team's jersey on, who knows who is on what team.

Blackburn, you said that right!! Wow, if the Y got Williams and Bowers from M33M/Chaos, watch out!!! Sorry to hear that about Wells... Heck we're battling Birmingham Raptors fto keep one of our best frontcourt players!! So as you said, who knows till they show up at the first tourney!!

Good luck to all TN teams... and would love to hear some more opinions on 17u ball this year!!

Big Y, is Blake and Ware not playing with the Y 17's??

You got that right. Saw that he was with the Raptors for an event. Things usually work out for the best, one kid leaves and it opens the door for someone else to come in and step up.
